Guided Walking Tours of Historic Dover Saturdays through September 13th, 10:30am The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce offer Guided Walking Tours of Historic Dover  on Saturday mornings this summer.  Tours begin at the Dover Chamber and will leisurely stroll through Dover's Historic Downtown.  There will be numerous stops along the way where a guide will point out places of interest, offer historical perspective, and share stories and anecdotes about the people, places and events that have helped shape Dover.  Reservations are recommend and can be made by calling (603) 742-2218. |

 Teddy Bear Clinic & Tea Party at Children's Museum of NH
 Friday, August 8, Clinic: 10:00am to Noon.  Tea Party: Noon - 12:30 pm
 Children are invited to bring a favorite stuffed friend to the museum's annual Teddy Bear Clinic.  Health professionals and volunteers will perform health check-ups and conduct minor surgery on children's furry friends.  The clinic is followed by a tea party from Noon to 12:30pm. |

 High-flying fun at the Children's Museum on August 15 The Children's Museum of NH is celebrating one of its most popular  activities with a day of hands-on, high-flying fun. Slingshots  and Catapults Day will be held on Friday, August 15 from 11 am - 3 pm at the museum in Dover.There  will be places  to test out and tweak these creations, and museum educators will lead  outdoor demonstrations, weather permitting) at 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm. All  catapult and slingshot activities are included in regular paid  admission and are free for Children's Museum members. No reservations  are required and activities  will be available throughout the 4-hour period. |

   Meet Layne Case at The Well Read Book Store Saturday, August 9, from 10am-12noon  Well Read Bookstore, 18 Plaistow Rd, #9, Plaistow, NH  Meet Layne Case, author of the "Charlie" books.  Layne will speak about  her experience as a published children's author as well as a publisher  of other children's books written by her students.  Joining Layne will  be 13 year old Author Keeley Shea Patricia McCabe.  Her book "It's Not  Always as It Seems.  A Story About Dyslexia" explains the challenges of  dyslexia, something Keeley knows very well.  |

Funding is available for some of these programs but more is needed to support our patients and their families. Patients are living with cancer everyday and our wish is for them to be well.      Children's Activities at the Wentworth HouseHands-on children's games and activities will be offered on Sunday, August 17 from 1 to 4 pm at the Colonel Paul Wentworth House in Rollinsford.  This event is in connection with this summer's exhibit at the Wentworth House, "Seen But Not Heard: Childhood in New England. Workshops are designed to give trainers, instructors, educators and caregivers the basic tools needed to complete a simple art project with all populations.   August 12, 2014-Pam Bartlett, traditional rug hooking artist will teach the art and technique of traditional rug hooking. Participants will create an ornament or coaster. |
