 | SAVE THE DATE Night at the Woodman Museum Returns; August 22, 23 & 24          Back from its first sold-out run last year, The Woodman Museum will present Night at the Woodman Museum II - Notable Events: The Good, the Bad and the Strange. The production will include 22 scenes of Dover  history that will come to life during the hour and a half tour through  the grounds of the museum.  Learn about the early settlers, their  strange laws and about the punishments that took place.  See an early  grist mill come alive and learn about the fire that destroyed another  Dover mill. Meet a civil war soldier who fought at Gettysburg and  Captain William Flagg whose crew captured a British cannon and supplied a  captured bell to one of Dover's earliest schools.  There will also be  "President" Mary Dow and Opera star Nellie Brown Mitchell -and the  return of Dover's own Marilla Ricker- who ran for Governor even before  women could vote.   |

Guided Walking Tours of Historic Dover Saturdays through September 13th, 10:30am The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce offer Guided Walking Tours of Historic Dover  on Saturday mornings this summer.  Tours begin at the Dover Chamber and will leisurely stroll through Dover's Historic Downtown.  There will be numerous stops along the way where a guide will point out places of interest, offer historical perspective, and share stories and anecdotes about the people, places and events that have helped shape Dover.  Reservations are recommend and can be made by calling (603) 742-2218. |

 Teddy Bear Clinic & Tea Party at Children's Museum of NH
 Friday, August 8, Clinic: 10:00am to Noon.  Tea Party: Noon - 12:30 pm
 Children are invited to bring a favorite stuffed friend to the museum's annual Teddy Bear Clinic.  Health professionals and volunteers will perform health check-ups and conduct minor surgery on children's furry friends.  The clinic is followed by a tea party from Noon to 12:30pm. |
