A Look Ahead to the Holidays:
Media has a great tradition of holiday events and beautiful streets for shoppers and diners to enjoy. We hope Media is your go-to destination for unique and authentic shopping and dining. Mark your calendars, invite a friend, and get a jump on the holiday season here. As we prepare for the 2013 season, here's a preview of upcoming events:
  • Santa's Arrival & Festival of Lights: This event will take place at the Delaware County Courthouse again this year on Friday, November 29. The festivities start at 5pm with the Phillie Phanatic and Santa Claus as our special guests. When Santa turns on the lights this year, he'll illuminate our new lights on the buildings along Veteran Square connecting Front Street to State Street!  And the Star Wars Characters from the 501st Garrison Carida will be joining us to assist with collecting donations for Toys for Tots and the Media Food Bank.
  • Black Friday & Small Business Saturday: We'd like to invite you to shop locally at our wonderful retail shops this year on Black Friday (November 29), Small Business Saturday (Novmeber 30), and throughout the holiday season. Media Borough Council has approved free parking on these days, so save your internet shopping for another time and join us as we kick off the holiday shopping season in Media, PA!
  • Carriage Rides: Take a carriage ride through the streets of downtown Media this holiday season. The carriage rides will be the first three Wednesdays in December from 6-9pm in front of the Delaware County Courthouse.
  • Santa's Village: Skip the mall lines and visit Santa at Santa's Village located at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union of Media. The dates are December 14th through 23rd. Weekdays times will be 3pm to 7pm and weekend times from 12pm to 4pm (with an additional 6pm-9pm time on Saturday December 14th).
  • New Year's Eve Community Celebration & Ball Drop: Our New Year's Eve Ball Drop Celebration will be held in front of Spasso again this year with music by Philly Gumbo starting at 11pm and the ball drop at midnight. Come on out to ring in 2014 Media-Style! Special Note: Residents & visitors are urged to use the trash and recycling bins. The MBA will make extra bins available for that night. Please keep the town clean an safe for pedestrians and trolley and avoid leaving glass.
