Retail Committee
Our newly formed Retail Committee has been meeting monthly since May. They have been working on advertising and promotions focused around the retail in Media.

Currently Jean Leone from One or Two of a Kind is organizing a full page ad "Shop Local/Shop Media" in Town Talk. She is looking for retailers and/or salons interested in advertising. The ad will run 9/25. The price is $75.00. The ad will be business card size and include a picture of either the proprietor or storefront, address, along with the owners name and brief description of goods. Please contact Jean Leone by Sept 3rd to ensure your spot. 610-565-8012.

The Committee is also organizing a town wide Side Walk Sale on September 13th & 14th. All local retailers and service businesses are invited to come out with a table on the sidewalk to display their wares. Please ensure the table does not protrude into the sidewalk more than 3 ft from your storefront per borough codes. Businesses not located on State Street or its side streets that wish to participate, please contact Zubair Khan to find an available location to set up. 610-566-5039.

Promotions Committee
We are working again with Main Line Today Magazine. This year's insert will focus around Women Business Owners in Media. You may not be aware the majority of business owners in Media are women. This insert will highlight our business district and the people that make it successful.

In conjunction with the comprehensive plan the borough is executing, we are releasing a patron survey that will be out at the end of August. It will give us feedback from our customers on what they appreciate in Media and what needs improvement.

Delaware County Council has implemented a Veterans Discount Program. Please see attached to participate.

Fine Arts & Crafts Festival
The Community Arts Center will be hosting its 11th Annual Fine Arts & Crafts Festival in Media again this year on Saturday, September 28th. The design of this event positions the artist in the center of the street is to help promote retail and allow the flow of foot traffic easy access to the merchants. This event draws people from all over South Eastern Pennsylvania.  Visit for more info!
We would like to hear what topics interest you, and we are also always looking for fresh participation, so please feel free to attend a board meeting, drop-in on a committee meeting or contact us ( / 610.566.5039).

In an effort to communicate more effectively with our borough businesses and organizations, the MBA will be regularly sending important information via this newsletter service: ConstantContact. logoWe're committed to getting information to our entire business community. Please call if you would like a printed copy of this newsletter.
