11th Annual Americana Roots Ramble: Saturday April 20, 2012

In its 11th year, the Roots Ramble continues to draw people from near and far to Media.  The event features a diverse variety of distinctly American Roots Music from Rockabilly and Classic Rhythm & Blues to Bluegrass, Folk and Zydeco. This year's festival will continue that tradition and feature music at over 20 venues!

We want to expand the series this year to extend the festival's promotion and exposure to additional businesses, including service & store venues.  If you are interested, please let us know and we can discuss how to find you a suitable musical act and have your business join the series.

Whether you stay open, sell tickets at your business or buy a sponsorship ad, we encourage everyone to participate

For tickets or more information, call the MBA at 610-566-5039 or visit statestreetblues.com. Contact us for more details, and thank you in advance for your support!
Spring Promotions
Is your business doing anything special this Spring season? Please send us your details (promotions, hospitality, discounts, etc.) and we'll help spread the word through the VisitMediaPa.com calendar, as well as social media (Facebook and Twitter).
Business Outreach
While the MBA plans to continue communicating via these newsletters, we are also developing additional strategies to reconnect and increase communication with all businesses. One plan is to assign each board member to a list of businesses as a representative. It will take some planning to divide the entire business community, but our intention is to initiate this program and begin introductory visits soon. Our hope is that this will provide everyone an easy, ongoing path to ask questions, provide ideas and stay informed.

Another idea is to provide networking opportunities... see the article below for more details.
Business Mixers
The MBA is going to be hosting a series of business mixers this year to provide everyone an opportunity to network with fellow merchants, explore cross-promotional opportunities, learn about upcoming events and projects, and maybe take a much needed break. Our goal is to have a brief presentation by various Media organizations or relevant guest speakers at each event, and we'll aim to hold these at different days and times to accommodate our varied schedules.

The first event will be March 19th, 6pm at Picasso and Robin Beaver will be our guest to speak about the Library.  Snacks will be served.
2013 Merchant Survey
In our last newsletter, we asked your opinions to help shape our focus and priorities. We'd like to continue to hear from you, so if you haven't already, please take a moment to complete our brief survey (link below).  Thank you in advance for your cooperation and we hope to help you make 2013 a prosperous year for your business > SURVEY LINK
Spring Cleaning

As you prepare your business for the Spring season, we want to remind everyone to focus on the outside as well. Please continue to help us clean up our act by sweeping your storefront sidewalks regularly and making sure to pickup with a dustpan.  And don't forget the backs of your businesses... we want our visitors to see closed trash enclosures, capped trash cans and to have a generally pleasant experience wherever they drive and stroll in Media. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation!

Media in 2013
The MBA is proud to sponsor and produce another year-long series of diverse and exciting events designed to bring an ever-growing variety of visitors and patrons to our town. For a full calendar, click here. The calendar is also available formatted as a postcard should you want to send it to your customers. Please let us know if you need printed calendars for your business or you would like to volunteer or participate in our events!
We would like to hear what topics interest you, and we are also always looking for fresh participation, so please feel free to attend a board meeting, drop-in on a committee meeting or contact us (mba@mediaborough.com / 610.566.5039).

In an effort to communicate more effectively with our borough businesses and organizations, the MBA will be regularly sending important information via this newsletter service: ConstantContact. logoWe're committed to getting information to our entire business community. Please call if you would like a printed copy of this newsletter.

Sincerely,

Media Business Authority
