BBC Making a Difference

How are you making a difference?
Cathy Dodd recently shared her story with us on Easter about how God had given her a second change and the struggle over the loss of her husband.
Cathy wanted to be closer to her family and BBC and began to look at apartments in the area. She planned the move for a weekend and asked a few people at BBC if they could help her out. A group from BBC helped Cathy move from Bellevue to Hendersonville on a Saturday. This group was made up of adults, students, children and even preschoolers wanted to make a difference in Cathy's life. What an awesome way to show God's love, not only to Cathy but to all those involved.
BBC is so thankful for people who will reach out and make a difference in other people's lives as Jesus does. Celebrate with us!

On Sunday, May 5th, the newly formed Women's Ministry held a Mother/Daughter Tea. We were delightfully surprised to have about 75 ladies/girls in a attendance. We had so many attend we had to move our event from the Parlor to the Got ?'s foyer. What a wonderful change of plans!
In addition to delicious finger foods and desserts we played our own little version of the Newlywed Game to see how well the Moms knew their daughter and vice versa - Linda Mansfield knew her daughter best. We
also played a little Bible Trivia game and the William Tell Overture of Momisms by Anita Renfro. (If you haven't heard this, check it out on YouTube).
The next Women's Ministry meeting will be in June to start planning for the Rummage Sale and the Retreat in October. Keep your eye on The Key. If you want to be involved in this fun and growing ministry call Beth McKinney, 419-2390 or email her at scrappinlikecrazy@juno.com.

Day of Service . May 11 . 10a-2p

We at BBC know how important it is to serve the needs of our community. On May 11th we will have the opportunity to serve a very important agency here in Sumner County.
The Needs List Foundation has requested that BBC folks come and help them as they relocate and restructure their warehouse in Gallatin.
Basically, they need people to help move their warehouse from one floor of their building to another floor. The Needs List is a non-profit organization who seeks to meet the urgent needs of children in Sumner County Schools whose needs cannot be met through any other agency. The provide clothing, scholarships, and other material resources to children who are in desperate need. This project is in Gallatin, and this opportunity is open to all ages (children need to attend with their parents).
We will meet at The Needs List Foundation at 10a. To sign up , get directions, or to find out more information, you can contact the church office at 824-0001.

Stepping Up: Psalms of the Ascent
by Beth Moore
Woman's Study
Room 127
Led by Beth McKinney
Explore the major feasts of Israel and journey with Beth through this 7-session study. Themes of unity, joy, gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule, and more are explored in detail. Modern-day believers in Jesus Christ can learn much from these treasured Psalms in their journey toward greater intimacy with God.
Adult Bible Study
Room 303
Led by Alan Godwin
Finding your Purpose
Parlor
Led by Ralph Troutman
Called by God? Called by God! So you're a believer, a Christ follower, now what? Does God have a specific purpose and plan for your life? How does God prepare you for His purpose? We will look at the lives of Moses, David, Paul and others to see how God chooses, calls, prepares and uses people for His purpose. Based on the book The Man God Uses by Henry & Tom Blackaby.
Spiritual Parenting
Room
Led by Penny Godwin and Wendy Swaby
In Spiritual Parenting parents learn to create a home environment that God can use to work in their children's lives. It's a biblical, innovative fresh approach to parenting-and one that's long overdue. It's hard enough to train kids to behave, but good behavior isn't what Jesus calls for in the Bible. He wants hearts and souls that are shaped in vibrant faith and love toward God and others. How can parents cultivate this in their children? In this book Dr. Michelle Anthony shares practical examples and biblical insight on the spiritual role of parenting. Spiritual Parenting introduces the simple, but revolutionary concept that parents are, by the power of God's Spirit, to obey and depend on God in order to create an environment God can use to beckon their children to Him.
Sunday . 9am
Finding your Purpose
Room 114
Led by Ralph Troutman
Called by God? Called by God! So you're a believer, a Christ follower, now what? Does God have a specific purpose and plan for your life? How does God prepare you for His purpose? 2013 Program Overview
- The Epic Battle of the Heart
- The Salvation Message - Friday evening's first message focuses on addressing our need for salvation. There is a always a battle that is taking place for our heart and only a commitment to Jesus Christ will see us through the hard fought war for our souls.
- Hearing and Obeying God's Word - We must be properly equipped to fight our battles in this epic war. The most effective and greatest weapon for this is the Word of God.
- Winning the Battle WIthin
- Purity - Sexual purity is a front line in the battle for our hearts. We live in a sexually infused world and as such sexual temptation is ever-present. We need a few good men in the trenches with us to help keep us accountable.
- Family - Our marriages and relationships with our children are perhaps the most things susceptible to attack by Satan. As men, we need to understand our God-given role as the spiritual leader and defender of our home in order to hold the line here.
- Unity - We will not get far in this war without surrounding ourselves with a band of brothers that we can depend on and trust in the thick of war. Having these relationships is critical in fighting any of our battles.
- Godly Manhood - An image of biblical manhood comes into focus as we work through these topics. Godly men are men of character and walk in righteousness and holiness by the power of the Holy Spirit.
