DAD
We all have memories of our Dad that come to mind - especially this weekend as we celebrate Father's Day.
This is one of my favourite pictures of our Dad as he admires a newly grafted Japanese Maple, because it reminds me of why we are in this business of growing and selling plants.
Dad loved to grow plants. He shared his enthusiasm and enjoyment with us. Almost every day, there was something exciting happening in the nursery - a new block of seeds germinating, newly grafted ornamentals were taking hold, shrubs and perennials were blooming, it was time to make cuttings - or - weeds were growing - better get out there and help hoe(groan). Dad loved to drive around the nursery, often stopping to admire the miracle of new growth. He never forgot to cut flowers and bring them into the house by the armful for mom who would stop everything to put them in water.
Thank you Dad for teaching us to take time to appreciate the joy and wonder of plants.
Happy Father's Day to all Dads from all of us at Canadale!
We look forward to seeing you soon.
