In the sale this week we're focusing on hedging! We have some great hedging plants on sale, like Emerald Cedars, White Cedars, Ibolium Privet (which gets lots of small white flowers!) and Green Velvet Boxwood.
Also on sale this week is a NEW Japanese Maple called Orangeola Japanese Maple. This appropriately-named new selection has delicate lacy leaves which turn from orange in spring to rich green with orange highlights, turning fiery orange once again in fall; interesting weeping branches on a relatively upright plant. A choice selection!

This weekend the Master Gardeners will be coming to Canadale to present some short informational seminars about gardening. In between these short blurbs they will be available for questions. These seminars are FREE.

For a foolproof way to attract butterflies to your garden, plant Milkweed! Two varieties of common milkweed (Cinderella - pictured & Soulmate) have just arrived, as well as some Butterfly Weed (a very similar perennial in the same family).

Also just arrived are Garvinea Gerbera Daisies. New for 2016, these gerbera daisies are an exceptionally robust plant that flowers continually for 3 seasons and produces up to 100 flowers per plant! These gerberas are very well suited for planting in large pots and in borders in the garden.

Father's Day is a great opportunity to show Dad you care and to say thank you for everything he's done for you. But finding the perfect gift for dad can be challenging. So we came up with some great gift ideas for the dads in your life - like Big Daddy Hosta, the Dramm 9-pattern Revolver hose attachment and Tuxedo Weigela.
A Breath of Fresh Air

Crispy Wave Fern is an amazing little plant that is a natural air purifier. This sculpted fern is very low maintenance and is a perfect addition to your kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, or any place needing a breath of fresh air!

Light: low light; no direct sunlight

Water: needs good drainage; lightly moist soil; water once to twice a week (reduce watering in winter)

Fertilizer: feed once every moth or two with an all purpose fertilizer

Winter: will not winter over outdoors; keep indoors during cold months

Size: depends on pot - if you planted it in a large barrel you'd have a large air purifying shrub
Canadale Kid's Club

Kid's Club is continuing to learn about where food comes from by planting BEAN seeds! 
If you know the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, you'll know that Jack planted some magic beans that grew so high they reached a castle in the clouds.
Well we aren't growing magic beans, but we can still have our bean seeds grow to reach a castle in the clouds with the magical castle trellis we'll make!

This is the second last Kid's Club of the season! Kid's Club runs Saturday & Sunday from 10am-4pm and is free for kids of all ages.
