Perky Peppers!
Hi Kids,
This weekend at Canadale Kid's Club we're planting peppers. Peppers are one of my favourite vegetables to grow because they are so easy and they taste great picked right off the plant! This weekend we're planting Bell Peppers which are super sweet. Hope you can join us!
This Week's Activity

This weekend at Kid's Club we are planting pepper plants! Plant a green or yellow bell pepper in a biodegradable pot that can be planted directly into the garden. Plus, make an adorable pepper marker to remember what it is!

Kid's Club runs this Saturday & Sunday from
10am - 4pm and is FREE for kids of all ages!

Growing Bell Peppers

Growing peppers is very easy!
They need to be planted in full sun and well-drained soil. Peppers are very sensitive to heat so on hotter days you will have to water more - and in the hot summer you'll probably even have to water every day. If you're planting more than one pepper plant, space them 18-24" apart. Peppers may need support (use a tomato cage for larger plants). After you see the first peppers forming, fertilize your pepper plant. You can harvest peppers as soon as they reach the desired size and colour. But, the longer you leave a peeper on the plant, the sweeter it is and the higher the Vitamin C content. To harvest, simply cut the pepper clean off the plant.

Send Us Your Kid's Club Photos

If you've been coming to Kid's Club for the past 10 weeks, then you'll have a FULL VEGGIE GARDEN complete with potatoes, lettuce, peas, radishes, sunflowers, mint, carrots, tomatoes and a vining veggie (watermelon, pumpkin or squash). We'd love to see how your veggie gardens are growing and share some of those photos on our e-newsletter and facebook page. If you have some photos of your Kid's Club veggie garden (or even one vegetable that's growing great) send your photos to info@canadale.com.

Thanks for joining us at Kid's Club!
Hope to see you soon!
