Telemundo Orlando's La Feria de la Familia is a Celebration Rooted in Tradition
The free, family event featured Telemundo celebrity David Chocarro and contestants from La Voz Kids
Orlando, FL- Telemundo Orlando packed Osceola Heritage Park's Exhibition Hall in Kissimmee this past Saturday, August 17, for the station's 9th annual La Feria de la Familia. The back-to-school themed event attracted over 24,000 attendees with participation from Central Florida's top businesses, organizations and community groups, who showcased services and provided information and resources to area Hispanics. The event also offered plenty of activities and entertainment, including special appearances from Telemundo stars and live musical performances.
Families lined-up well before the doors officially opened at 10:00am to take advantage of free back-to-school immunizations administered by the Osceola Health Department, a tradition at the event since its inception in 2005. One Blood, formerly Florida's Blood Centers, was also on-site saving lives with record blood donations. One of the highlights of the event was the 2nd annual Dominoes Tournament sponsored by 411 Pain with 25 tables and more than $1,000 in cash and prizes.
La Feria also featured a fully interactive children's area, complete with an arts and crafts station hosted by IKEA, bounce houses, face painting, and Radio Disney.
Telemundo novela star David Chocarro received a resounding welcome from participants and appeared alongside the Telenoticias Orlando news team greeting fans, signing autographs and taking photos. Finalists from Telemundo's recent smash hit La Voz Kids, Alanis Gonzalez and Angela Rodriguez, performed at the event and were extremely popular with the crowd. Other musical performances included Christian artist Daniel Calveti and merengue sensation Gisselle. The day concluded with an amazing show by salsa superstars Luisito Ayala y la Puerto Rican Power.
"This year's La Feria de la Familia attracted a diverse audience and was a meaningful celebration highlighting positive role models and inspirational messages for our community," said Larry De La Rosa, General Manager of Telemundo Orlando. "We are extremely proud of the station's tradition of kicking-off the school year with the only free Hispanic event of its kind in all of Central Florida and greatly appreciate the continued support of our partners to make La Feria such a huge success year after year."
Over the years, La Feria de la Familia has established itself as a dynamic and powerful forum. Connecting business to the Hispanic community, showcasing products and strengthening brands, La Feria de la Familia is an interactive expo of exceptional quality, guaranteed to inform, empower and entertain.
