Lenten Fish Fry
Living Springs in Northeast Columbia is hosting a Lenten Fish Fry every Friday during Lent (Feb. 20-Mar 27). The proceeds from this event will be donated to the USC Lutheran Campus Ministry. Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary Alumni Day 2015 - April 17
Strong Heritage- Bold Mission "...Teaching for today's church as it stands at the crossroads of congregation and community."
Keynote Address: Dr. Ginger Barfield, Associate Dean, will give an overview of our curriculum and degree programs, while emphasizing our contextual and missional focus as well as highlighting our faculty's strengths. Breakout sessions will be presented by: Dr. Jann Boyd - Faculty Director of Congregation and Community Engagement, Dr. Daniel Bell - Professor of Theological Ethics, A pre-event reading assignment is required for this session, Dr. Mary Sue Dreier - Associate Professor of Pastoral Care & Missional Leadership, and Dr. Brent Driggers - Associate Professor of New Testament. National Workshop on Christian Unity - April 20-23
This year's National Workshop on Christian Unity and annual meeting of the Lutheran Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Representatives Network in Charlotte, North Carolina from April 20 through 23. If you have not yet taken a moment to register, please do so soon at www.nwcu.org. Note that the registration deadline is April 1. Registration for both the Workshop and LEIRN meeting can be accomplished through the website and with a single payment. 2015 Senior Expo - May 1
Each May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) celebrates Older Americans Month to recognize older Americans for their contributions to the nation. In honor of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act (OAA), ACL is focused on how older adults are taking charge of their health, getting engaged in their communities, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. The theme for Older Americans Month for 2015 is 'Get into the Act.
  
Join us as we celebrate our seniors and older adults with disabilities in the state of South Carolina by providing resources, information, screenings, seminars, and more. Senior citizens from across the state will be invited to join, FREE of charge, to visit vendor exhibits, participate in presentation workshops, and enjoy entertainment during the "dinner and a show" themed luncheon. Lunch will be provided, however participants must pre-register by April 15. Space is limited! If your church, senior group, or senior community is interested in busing in or transporting a group of seniors to the event, please submit a roster of each individual's first and last name, and the name of your organization. Individuals who will be transporting themselves are also required to pre-register for the luncheon. Please indicate whether or not the individuals on the roster will be bused in or will be transporting themselves. This will allow us to reserve lunch tickets for your group(s) and individuals. NovusWay, Inc., a progressive and growing outdoor ministry in the southeastern United States (Lutheridge, Lutherock, Luther Springs and Lutheranch). The Development Director shall have substantial development experience, be goal and achievement oriented and able to motivate and inspire other development staff. Experience with major gifts solicitation and conducting capital campaigns, along with a background with the Lutheran church in the south will be helpful. Synod Assembly Planning Information
  
This year's Synod Assembly will take place at the Spartanburg Marriott from May 28-30. Assembly registration will be done online; watch for an announcement in early March as to when the process is up and running. (No paperwork will be mailed.) Need to know many voting members your congregation is eligible to send? Click here. If your congregation is not listed, it means that we are still waiting for your annual report. Reports were due by February 15th. Thank you to all who have completed and submitted them already.
