GraceWorks SC: Wow, what an outreach!

This week more than 50 youth and adults in the Columbia area embarked on an Outreach Week of ministry with area agencies to help serve populations in need of Christ's love and grace.

Facebook Check us out on Facebook at GraceWorks SC and "like" our page. You can see pictures of our worship together and the various projects we participated in all week. We are hoping for 500 "likes." You can help make that happen and at the same time learn more about the agencies in our area who are helping the citizens of Columbia and partnering with our youth to make a difference. We hope that this grows into an event that happens across the Synod in the years to come.

Triennial Testimonial

"Triennials are awesome! I was wowed when I attended my first one. It was a great experience. I met new people and got to know people in our own synod better. Fun workshops. Inspiring speakers and worship services. If you have never been, be sure to go this time. You won't regret it." - Linnea Erickson Laufer, Sonoma, Calif.

Dear Friends,

 Rev. Bill Miller

I am excited to invite your congregational leadership to an important presentation that can help your congregation grow and become a more vital and vibrant community of faith.

The Rev. Bill Miller has twenty years of experience leading and helping build congregations of various sizes in a diversity of cultural contexts. He has relevant insights to clergy of all denominations, in particular on navigating the "pastoral" to "program" size transition, a challenge for so many mainline churches. He has served as senior pastor of three different congregations that have been able to make this transition and have grown in the process!

TIME FOR A CHUCKLE!

The first graders were attending their first music lesson. The teacher was trying to begin at the beginning. She drew a musical staff on the blackboard and asked a little girl to come up and write a note on it.

The little girl went to the blackboard, looked thoughtful for a minute and wrote, "Dear Aunt Emma, just a short note to tell you I'm fine."
