Hayes Center Launches New Practice Opportunities Site
SCO Revamps Web Presence
In addition to SCO launching a newly redesigned website, the Hayes Center for Practice Excellence has debuted a new Practice Opportunities site. Alumni searching for a new practice opportunity, hiring a new partner, selling a practice, or seeking to connect with future graduates are welcome to register. Other enhancements to the site include advanced search criteria, the ability to input social media information, and the capacity to upload photos of your practice. Each practice is allowed one account, with the ability to add additional practice opportunities under the account. You'll also be able to view and contact students or other alumni who are actively seeking a position. Contact Anthony Hubbard in the Hayes Center if you have additional questions. |
Alumni Invited to Honor Jim Newman, OD '73
Support Needed to Name Lab for Dr. Newman
Alumni are invited to honor one of SCO's longest-serving and most respected faculty members, Professor Emeritus, Jim Newman, OD '73. Because of his association with teaching Theory and Methods, the administration has agreed to name SCO's new Theory and Methods lab in Dr. Newman's honor. SCO's Board of Trustees has generously agreed to match any donation in support of this effort, dollar for dollar. Any donation will help, but if just 250 alumni will pledge $1,000, the goal will be met and signage will be placed outside the lab so that future generations of optometry students will know of Dr. Newman's impact on optometric education. A letter is being mailed with pledge cards to alumni, but you may also make your gift online. Contact Cecily Freeman in the Development Office at (901) 722-3290 or at cfreeman@sco.edu for more info.
