Summaries of Waiver Amendments Available

Family Voices Indiana recently released summary information for families to help highlight changes approved in Medicaid Waiver services in July.  These summaries are a nice view of the changes without having to wade through the lengthy announcements. For those who like to read all the detail links are provided to the DDRS announcements.

We have posted the summaries on our Be Informed page under Important Announcements, so you can click here to view both of those documents.

In addition, the full announcement about Extended Services for both waivers is posted on the same page.

Remember FUSE when doing your estate planning!

Where has the time gone???  Many of you are getting ready for back to school and it just has gotten warm enough to feel like summer!  Hope you are making the most of the days and nights.  Here are the most recent updates about FUSE as well as info from other organizations that we wanted to share.

Friday July 24 is the Day--Match Day!!

We are so excited that this Friday is Match Day, and we hope we can count on YOU for your support!  On July 24, our community will come together for a special 24-hour giving event called Match Day, and we need YOU to join us. It's your chance to make a real difference for programs and services that serve our community.

Each gift made on July 24 will be matched TWO ways.  1) Every community gift received during the 24 hours period will receive a portion of the HCCF pool of $80,000 for the organizations, immediate needs.  2) All community gifts will be endowed and matched $0.50 for $1 up to $7,500 per organization from a $90,000 pool thanks to a grant from Lilly Endowment.

If you love FUSE and support our work in improving the lives of children with special needs, please show your love by donating online at

http://matchday.givehcgrowhc.org/non-profits/fuse

or at the HCCF office on Match Day.  If you can't make it, let us know and we will arrange to have your donation picked up tomorrow!!

How does it work?

Donations can be made on giveHCgrowHC.org or be delivered to the Hancock County Community Foundation (HCCF) office at 312 E. Main St., Greenfield on Match Day.  HCCF will be open from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on July 24, 2015, to receive donations.  HCCF will accept cash, check, or credit, and all donations mailed must be postmarked July 24, 2015 for eligibility.  Checks should be made out to HCCF with "Match Day" and the designated organization written in the memo line.

August Parent Meetings

In August the FUSE meetings in Hancock and Shelby counties will both be Q&A sessions. With the start of a new school year it's tough to schedule speakers and get people to work it in with their new routines.  Have a hot topic you want to discuss?  Questions you need answered? Resources you want to find?  If so, come with your questions and discussion items and we'll tackle them as a group!  There's no better way to learn than to talk to another parent who has been in your shoes.

We will have child care on site so please include your children in your registration if you want to use the child care.  It helps me to know by the Friday before the meeting if you are bringing children.

NEW INFORMATION--No Meal Provided

We are NO LONGER ABLE TO PROVIDE A MEAL at the regular meetings. We regret any difficulty this may cause our families, and we know it can be challenging to schedule in a meal before you arrive.  You are welcome to bring food and drinks for yourself/your family into the meeting with you.

If you have questions about our parent meetings, please call 317-462-9064 or send us an email at [email protected]

Cruisin' for FUSE Motorcycle Ride August 15--Registration Open

The third annual Cruisin' for FUSE Charity Motorcycle Ride will take place on August 15, 2015!

We rescheduled the ride for weather concerns, so here are the new details.  The ride will start at the Hancock County FOP at 400 E. Davis Road, Greenfield, with registration at 8:30 am and kickstands up at 9:30 am. The ride will be round trip to Mann's Harley Davidson in Edinburgh. Registration is $25 per bike and $5 for a rider, which includes a T-shirt and wristband.

Register to ride at Cruisin' for FUSE at this link

Riders who choose to may raise at least $100 by getting pledges and have their registration fee waived. This option gives riders an opportunity to increase the fundraising to help FUSE provide information and support to families raising children with special needs! Learn more about this option or how to sponsor a rider on our website at this link.

Plan to cruise in for lunch and an ice cream sundae bar after the ride, beginning at 12:30.  The lunch cost will be $10 and includes both lunch and ice cream!  We will have a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction with great items from local businesses and collectibles after the ride as well. We are working on new entertainment, so watch our website for details!

For more information, call Amy Borgmann at 317-462-9064 or email [email protected].

Back to school can be a stressful time for students, parents and teachers! Here are two great articles published by the Indiana Resource Center for Autism in their IRCA Reporter.  Even if your child does not have autism, these articles provide tips that can be helpful across a wide variety of special needs.

New Mental Health Trainings Available Online

Family Voices Indiana and FUSE received a grant from Mental Health America of Indiana to create and share two new trainings featuring children's mental health. We presented these trainings in person in May. We also archived them as videos on youtube so they can be viewed at a time convenient for families and professionals.

Click here to access the trainings via Family Voices Indiana's training page.

We hope you find these trainings helpful. If you need additional resources or support, feel free to contact FUSE or Family Voices Indiana.
