Message from the BALIF Board
|
Greetings!
Happy November BALIF!
I want to extend a sincere thank you to all those who donated to and/or attended the Social Action Fundraiser for El/La Para TransLatinas. We raised enough money to help fund development training programs, HIV testing materials, and peer-to-peer counseling programs. I am really amazed and impressed by everyone who reached into their hearts and pockets to contribute to such a wonderful cause.
As the Halloween decorations and the Pumpkin Spice lattes go into storage and the Christmas decorations and Gingerbread mochas come out, BALIF is also getting into the holiday spirit. We are currently in the planning stages of our annual holiday party. On December 9th at 6pm, come join us at Beaux, located at 2344 Market Street, for a night of good food, strong drinks, and fun times. I hope to see old friends and meet new ones on this night.

Invitation to Judge International Mock Trial Program at NDCA (11/21 or 11/22)
|
Right now, more than 250 talented high school students from across the world are diligently preparing a case to litigate at San Francisco federal court. On the weekend of November 21, 2015, they need you to serve as their mock judges (and jurors)! By volunteering just a few hours of your time, you can make a meaningful impact in these young people's lives.
- Features four preliminary rounds of competition, and you can judge as many or as few as you like-no litigation experience is required.
- Please feel free to invite a friend or colleague to judge with you at the program. We'll pair you together!
- Students hail from 5 countries (Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, and the United States) and 8 states.
- We'll serve complimentary food and beverages as a token of our appreciation.
- Registering takes less than a minute -- you can do so here.
