Message from the BALIF Board
|
Greetings!
What a wonderful week in politics, life, and experiences. Only in America can we celebrate the coming of Pope Francis to the United States in the same week we celebrate the coming of the Folsom Street Fair. We are definitely a nation of diversity and culture.
This diversity and culture is showing out in the "Real World" of Presidential politics. Only in America can we see a diversity of reality TV style Presidential candidates displayed on our TV screens every day. As we discuss and ponder whether our nation and Constitution is inclusive enough to embrace a Muslim President someday, we are reminded that we are a constantly evolving country. Where one decade a Black President, interracial marriage, and gay marriage seem beyond reach, the following decade the dream and power of EQUALITY within our Constitution is achieved. Some may feel hopeless in our country's current political climate. I feel hopeful and excited for a greater future for Equality and Acceptance in our great Nation.
This excitement is spilling over to the BALIF Gala Committee. The Gala Committee is happy to announce we have decided on a date and venue, Friday, February 19, 2016 at The Bently Reserve. The 2016 GALA is shaping up to be the biggest, best, and most fabulous BALIF Gala ever! Those members interested in serving on the Gala Committee please email gala@balif.org and tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to serve on this committee.
