Message from the BALIF Board
|
Greetings!
On the heels of Lavender Law and now in Washington, DC for on-campus interviewing, I have been thinking a lot about the future of the legal profession: those who will come after us and continue the progress so desperately needed. Much has been said about next steps after Obergefell, and an important way to facilitate those next steps is by mentoring law students and/or newer lawyers.
The BALIF Connections Mentoring Program is a great opportunity to do just that. From now until September the Young Lawyers & Law Students Committee Co-Chairs Felicia Medina and Shauna Madison are accepting applicants and making mentoring pairings. More information on the program can be found here. If you are interested in participating, please email Felicia and Shauna at younglawyers@balif.org. The program will then kick off on September 18 at the Mentor/Mentee Happy Hour at the Lookout. I hope to see everyone there!

It's that time of the year again! BALIF's Connections mentorship program is seeking mentors and mentees for 2015-2016. If you are a law student, recent law school graduate, or newer attorney seeking a mentor, or if you are an experienced attorney interested in serving as a mentor, please contact the Young Lawyers and Students Programs Committee, younglawyers@balif.org. Mentor/mentee pairs will be assigned on a rolling basis from July-September.
