July 2013 Newsletter
Friends! Affiliates! Ne'er-do-wells!
Welcome to the July newsletter :) We hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July :) It is straight HAWT in GA, and when it is not hot it is just pouring down rain. But don't worry, we're still grillin' up grub and making the most of this summer :) As soon as we get a break in the weather, you better believe we'll beat the heat and make a summer splash with a visit to the WAAAAAAAAAATER PAAAAAAAARK!! Water parks may be the culmination of ingenuity from the universes' greatest thinking minds :) I mean, what's better than sliding down a water slide at 60mph getting the biggest wedgie in the history of swim attire, and water so far up your nose you'll be tasting chlorine for weeks to come? Bring it on! But before you dive in, you should know some things about water parks and where they come from and how they're evolving...
- Water parks were introduced in the late 1940's. The worlds first water park was "Wet 'n Wild
" in Orlando, FL. Created by George Millay (he also created Sea World!).
- The first-ever indoor water park was built in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1985 at the West Edmonton Mall, it's called World Waterpark. It is still the second largest in the entire world almost 30 years later.
- The tallest (135 feet) and fastest (65 mph) water slide in the world is the amazing "Insano", at Beach Park in Fortaleza, Brazil.
- The top five water parks in the world by average annual attendance since 2007:
- Typhoon Lagoon (2,080,000), Walt Disney World, Lake Buena Vista, FL
- Blizzard Beach (1,910,000), Walt Disney World, Lake Buena Vista, FL
- Caribbean Bay (1,400,000), Korea
- Wet 'n Wild (1,370,000), Orlando, FL
- Wet 'n Wild Water World (1,025,000), Gold Coast, Australia
- There are more than 1,000 water parks in the US, and over 600 more throughout the world.
- The fastest-growing water park regions of the world are Eastern Europe & Middle East, specifically the United Arab Emirates, and Far East/Pacific Rim.
And celebrities love water parks too! For example:
Even the fearless Tom Brady just giggles with fright when he visits the water park!
But if you don't happen to have any water parks in your area, that's still no excuse to give up - you could make your own water park in the backyard!:
Backyard Waterslide of DOOM
OK, enough funny business - lets talk about tunes! Plenty of preorder updates and news about upcoming records and tours! So, let's slide down into the July newsletter! Hope you like it :)
Remember, feet first and arms crossed... heeeeere we go!

Bad Blood split 7"
As announced last month, we'll be bangin' out this badass split 7" in September! Everything is into production now and we arrrrre rollin'! We're hoping to get preorders up and running by the end of the month :)
If you are still in need of an intro to Aeges, we are very disappointed in you, but it's ok. Just head right over HERE, IMMEDIATELY, and get straight schooled in the ways of awesomeness. The band features current & former members of Pelican, The Rise, -16-, and other awesome bands. We put out a full length entitled The Bridge for them last year and it was universally acclaimed, for good reason too, it simply crushes! We also released a 7" single for a jam off the album called Southern Comfort, with an unreleased B-side, Stars. And while The Bridge quickly sold out on vinyl, you should probably pick up a copy of the 7" HERE while you still can :)
And just in case you missed our introduction of the almighty Dust Moth last month, these guys are made up of current and former members of XVIII Individual Eyes, These Arms Are Snakes, Minus The Bear, Sparkmaker, and includes Mark Holcomb, former Aeges guitarist (as well as Shift and Undertow). We're very, very, very excited about these guys, so be sure to head over to the their Facebook page and "like" them RIGHT HERE and check out the video for Selector RIGHT HERE (a different badass track will appear on the 7").
Simply put, this is quite possibly the greatest split of all-time, G.S.O.A.T. Preorders soon, so keep an eye out!!
Following the Aeges/Dust Moth split we'll be releasing Will Benoit's (Constants) new project, Living Phantoms. If you like your dream-pop mixed with modern electro that sounds all at once retro yet new & fresh, then you're in for a treat with this one! This will be a limited cassette and digital release and we'll be dropping it in October with an August preorder for the cassette.
You can check out some of his remixes for Gifts From Enola, Bad Rabbits, and Graveyard Lovers to get a little taste :) We'll premier one of his original tunes when we launch the cassette preorders next month, so get stoked! And in the meantime, go check out Living Phantoms on Facebook HERE and give it a solid liking :)

Caspian Plays Free Hometown Show
The luckiest people in the world tomorrow are the folks in Beverly, MA. Caspian
will be playing a free outdoor show for them! If you're in Bev, please get some video of this and share it with everyone! And have a great time if you'll be in attendance! Full details can be found on the Facebook event page HERE
The Immaculate Collection
Our good friend Jason Sykes recently obtained a copy of Caspian's Tertia 2xLP on transparent maroon vinyl from their 2009 European tour and thus completed his collection of Mylene Sheath releases. Pretty amazingly badass if you ask us! You can check out some pics of various collections over on our website HERE, and if you have a similar need to achieve and MUST own them all, you can get a head start with THIS STARTER KIT and then head over HERE to talk to others about how/where to hunt down some of the rare & OOP records :) If anyone out there has a collection that they'd like us to post on our website, just reply to this email and we'll get your pics up ASAP!
Test Press Artwork Contest Series Vol. VI
So for the sixth installment in the test press artwork contest series, we find ourselves coming in at Sheath014, Constants' 2009 sprawling 3xLP masterpiece The Foundation, The Machine, The Ascension!
You can stream the album HERE for inspiration :)
5 of these test presses were pressed, but only 4 remain. We had originally either screen printed or spray painted (can't remember which, it was 4 years ago - hard to believe!) a special one-of-a-kind jacket for a copy we gave the band. These other 4 copies have been chillin' like villains in one of our test press crates ever since :) So we figure it's high-time to get some jackets made for them!
Head over to the message board HERE to read all the details of the contest, lets create some magic together!
Boris' Summer Cool In The Pool Sale!

Head over HERE to see if we've got anything that gets you wet and keeps you cool. The sale will be going on until next Thursday, so grab something on the cheap!
All good things must come to an end, friends. But fret not, we will be back in August with another crucial 4-1-1 fix! Hope y'all enjoyed the info, and please feel free to share with anyone you know that might give two poops! And thanks so much as always for caring, we hope everyone is having a magical summer, breathe it in and make some memorable summer nights (and days) happen while it's here!
See y'all in August <3
