NIGEL BARKER HOSTS EDEYO FOUNDER UNIK ERNEST'S 5TH ANNUAL TOY DRIVE BENEFIT WITH ZINK MAGAZINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (New York, NY - December 6th, 2012)

Nigel Barker will host Unik Ernest's 5th Annual Edeyo Toy Drive benefit

with Zink Magazine on Wednesday, December 12th at Pink Elephant Club,

located at 40 W. 8th Street NY, NY 10011. The evening will raise much-needed funds to ship the toys to Haiti and cover the cost of the Edeyo Foundation's Christmas party for the community of Bel Air in Haiti.  The benefit will feature a sponsored bar by CHANDON champagne, HENNESSY Cognac, BELVEDERE Vodka, QUI Tequila, 10 CANE Rum, HEINEKEN Beer, and RED BULL. There will also be passed Hors-D'oeuvres, Live performances by Antoniette Costa and Natascha Bessez, and music by DJ Kiss and DJ Damon Degraff. The night will begin at 9:30pm until Midnight.

For the past five years, the Edeyo (meaning Help Them in Haitian Creole) Foundation has been successfully collecting donated items to distribute to the children of Bel Air (Port-au-Prince), one of the poorest

neighborhoods of Haiti. The annual toy drive will benefit 220 children from

the school and over 500 from the Bel Air community.

Since its establishment, The Edeyo Foundation has been responsible for the creation and management of the Edeyo School in Bel Air. The mission of Edeyo is to improve the future for children in Bel Air through free education, good nutrition, and social support. Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the non-profit organization worked feverishly to send food, water and supplies to the country.

The school was destroyed and the Edeyo Foundation has been dedicating

its resources to rebuilding the school and relocating its increasing number

of students into new facilities. When the school was created there were 88 children enrolled. Today the school serves over 220 students per year, all of whom had limited or no access to education prior to joining the Edeyo School.
