 Dear Missions Partner,

 A Note from Guillermo

Dear brothers and sisters: "For this we labor and strive"

Last week we had our first graduation from our Bible institute. Being there and seeing the graduates getting their diplomas reminded me of how much sacrifice and effort it took from everybody, including you, to make this happen.

It took people praying in the US and Nicaragua, people giving, people going, long hours traveling on the roads and by plane to meet with students, lots of preparation for classes , sacrifice from the students, teachers, and churches, etc. But to see the result of it that day was totally rewarding and an encouragement to keep on going.

Nobody said it was going to be easy, but praise God for His grace that enables us to face all obstacles to His work. Paul told Timothy; "for this we labor and strive" (1 Tim. 4:10a).  To strive means to agonize, it is the picture of an athlete straining and giving his best to win.

It is not easy, but eternally rewarding, to teach people how to live godly lives. And what better way to do it than rooting pastors and church leaders so they can be examples to many; in Word, in conduct, in love, in faith and purity.

On behalf of all the graduates, we thank you for striving with us in the race of equipping the saints for the work of ministry.  May God bless you and reward you all for making this happen, all to the glory of our Living God.

I love you in the Lord.

Hola,

April 19, 2013 was a day of rejoicing as Chosen Children Ministries Bible institutes graduating class ceremony was held at our Masaya campus. Fourteen graduates received diplomas. These graduates attended three years of classes and received high marks for their determination and hard work. Many trekking three hours on buses and walking to get to class. We, at Chosen Children Ministries, are proud of each one of these dedicated servants.

Guillermo Morales leads the Bible Institute along with teachers and pastors who pour into these students and lead biblical teaching. We would like to thank the many US pastors and teachers who gave of their time to teach throughout these three years while on mission trips with CCM.

We would also like to thank the many who helped support these pastors. A senior pastor of one of our churches makes $150.00 a month. These pastors will reach hundreds with the gospel (multiply that times sixteen churches planted by CCM) that shows what a great investment this is. If you would like to help in the area of pastor support, any amount would be appreciated.

We, at Chosen Children Ministries, would like to take this opportunity  to say thank you to so many who have traveled to the mission field  with our Nicaraguan staff and pastors. Your investment of time and resources is greatly appreciated.

Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The USA is the wealthiest. Nicaraguan nationals who know their culture, know their people, and have walked in the shoes of those they minister to can do the best job reaching these people with the gospel.  We believe at CCM the best way to help is to partner  Nationals with short term teams  who bring encouragement and resources to assist in the this effort.

If you are interested in more information about taking a mission trip with us at CCM please call our office 864-599-0067 or check us out at chosenchildrenministries.org.

 In Christ,

We had a wonderful trip to Nicaragua. There were 39 youth and adults on our trip. It was amazing to see how God used our students and adults for His Glory throughout our trip.

We have story after story of God's faithfulness during our trip; from an adult getting the opportunity to name a young child to a high school student giving money during our share time one evening, not knowing at that exact time a local pastor's bike was being  stolen from him. The money he donated was the exact amount needed to purchase a bike for the pastor so he could continue to evangelize and build disciples in his communuity the very next day.

We are so grateful for the opportunity that was provided for us through the ministry of Chosen Children and are overwhelmed at the results that we witnessed as we were ministering alongside them during our spring break trip.

This year we made the most of our time by going to different locations and seeking new opportunities to build relatiionships and help people with basic needs. We were in different places almost daily.

On Sunday, our first full day in Nicaragua, which just happened to be Easter, we went to a Hispanic church in Managua. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We were also fortunate enough to praticipate in the Lord's Supper which was such a treat to be a part of, especially on Easter.

The next day we spent the morning at Chosen Children's orphanage. We listened to different testimonies from different children about how they came to live in the orphanage. My heart broke into tiny pieces as the translator told about what happened with these precious children. What a joy to see how God is using this ministry to help the children change their lives.

Later that day, our team went to what turned out to be my  favorite part of the whole trip. We went to visit a nursing home close to the orphanage. I cannot imagine the isolation and loneliness these sweet people must feel. But we were able to share the news of Christ with them, sit and talk with them and hold their hands. What  a blessing!

We got to visit a Nicaraguan school.  There our high school students stepped up, were leaders, and bodly proclaimed the gospel. We got to go into barrios and do door to door Evanglism and see what needs the people might have.

We got to feed the people and help them make repairs to their homes. It was an incrediable and encouraging time.

It was great for us to be a part of all the Lord did through this team, as His tools, on this trip. There were blessings after blessings and we were amazed at the Lord's wonderful work.

From April 6-13, 2013, our team of 54 students and leaders served in the villages of Xiloa and The Flags. This is the 3rd year that our team has been there and this year we had probably the greatest impact to date. We talked a lot about unity and courage during our trainings and our students responded. They loved and supported each other all week, sacrificed for each other, and focused solely on advancing God's Kingdom. And they displayed courage to share their stories, present the Gospel, love men/women/children, and do whatever God called them to do each day.

Over half of our team had never been with us before, so there was fear in many of them as we prepared for the trip. But when we arrived, they trusted in God's power and boldly did what God had called us there to do.

We saw many come to trust Christ during our trip. Most of them were led to Jesus by our students, not me or our leaders. The people were led to Christ through VBS, door-to-door evangelism, women's/sports ministry, and just taking advantage of opportunities that God provided.

Construction was a big part of what we did as well. We had taken up an offering all year in our high school service to use during our trip. We came into the trip thinking we would build a feeding station and repair some homes in The Flags. But God had bigger things in store. 48 hours before we arrived, God opened up the door for us to build a church, something that was not allowed previously in this village.  Over the course of the week, we were able to build or provide money to build a church and feeding station in The Flags, as well as supplies and 4 months worth of food for the feeding station, a home for one of the village leaders, a drilled well, 2 latrines, plastic wrap for several houses, a feeding station in Xiloa, and 2 first-aid kits for a third village. It was incredible to watch God use what little we had to make a tremendous impact!

We were also able to give out 600 hygiene bags and 150 Bibles, which blessed the people so much. The way the people reacted, it was as if we were giving away large amounts of money. But they are so poor, they are desperate for something as simple as a small bag of soap, shampoo, toothpaste, baid-aids, etc.

I loved the ownership and urgency the students showed! Over the course of the week they went from doing things they were scheduled to do, to looking for opportunities to make an impact. I   had many students come up to me and say something like, "I have 30 minutes free right now. Can I take a translator and share the Gospel door-to-door?" That was exciting to see and I know it will translate to their schools, communities, and families back in the Atlanta area!

By the end of the week, all of our students said they saw God do something through them that they couldn't have done themselves. They trusted in God's power, and watched in amazement as God showed off. Our last night together, none of them wanted to go home. Their hearts are in Nicaragua with the people that they met and ministered to.

Thanks to the Chosen Children team for your love, support, and helping make our team feel comfortable. We love each of you!

We would like to encourage you to read Dwayne Morris' book The Outrageous Life."   Dwayne shares the story of Gideon going from an ordinary man to a man living an outrageous life by stepping out in faith and "doing" in the place and situation that God has placed him.  Most of you have been on the mission field and you see people on the field living an outrageous life for God. This book will encourage you even more. It is a great book to share with others.  There is a short story about how God took the faith of Wallace and Guillermo about building our campus in Masaya and expanding the vision beyound either of their imaginations. You can purchase this book on Amazon or download it on Kindle. It will make a difference in your faith.

"Dwayne's book, I believe, will have a positive impact on everyone who reads it. He has done an incredible job expressing God's love and how we can walk in faith hearing clearly the promises and provisions taught in God's Holy Word, The Bible."
