National Networking Teleconference at 1:00 p.m. Today - Posted 12.16
A monthly national networking teleconference will be hosted by the National Mental Health Consumers' Self-Help Clearinghouse and facilitated by Clearinghouse director Susan Rogers will be held at 1:00 p.m. today.
The call-in number is 866.906.0123; the pass code is 5037195#. The purpose of the calls is for consumer/survivor/ex-patient activists from around the U.S. to get together, share information, and "network." If you would like to suggest an agenda item, please e-mail Susan Rogers srogers@mhasp.org with "Agenda" in the subject line. In addition, if you plan to participate, even if you don't want to suggest an agenda item it would be helpful if you would email Susan; this will make it easier to provide participants with teleconference minutes. If you are participating in the call, please do not put the call on "hold" for any reason, because that will put EVERYONE on hold! If you need to leave the call for a few minutes, just leave your phone on mute and come back when you're ready.

"eCPR as Primary Prevention" - Posted 12.9
In a recent article in Mad in America, authors Lauren Spiro; Daniel Fisher, M.D., Ph.D.; and Leah Harris expand on the benefits of eCPR. Starting first with the trauma-informed question "What happened to you?" eCPR encourages ways to connect to people by listening to and supporting them in an open-minded, curious, and nonjudgmental way. Developed from the concept that everyone can and should play a role in helping people achieve wellness, eCPR aims to prevent crises before they occur. Read the article.
