New Consumer Run Support Group for Forensic Issues
 
A Virginia consumer who experienced the gradual release process has opened this support group for other consumer's in Virginia who have forensic issues. We still need support while in the community, or we can find support in groups or on-line. 100% peer-established and peer-operated

 

Bring up any questions you like. Somewhere between our members we will have an answer or a suggestion!

Ticket to Work: "You Asked, We Answer"

 

Some people with disabilities may be able to work and continue receiving disability benefits. On February 6, tune in to a free webinar from the Social Security Administration to learn about the Social Security administration's Ticket to Work program and support services for people who are ready to work. This session will also include answers to frequently asked questions about Work Incentives, Ticket program resources, how employment through the program works with disability benefits and health care coverage, and more.

Do you have questions about VOCAL?  Is there something you want to know but just don't know how or who to ask?  Now there is an easy way to make it happen:  it's called "Ask Will"!

Please include your name and contact information for verification:  anonymous submissions will not be accepted.  Responses will be published in the VOCAL Network News newsletter which is currently published six times per year.
An archive of responses will be made available through VOCAL's website at www.vocalvirginia.orgthe "Ask Will" column.  In this column, members can ask questions of VOCAL's Executive Office.  The intent of this column is to disseminate information to you - our membership - in a timely fashion.  Inquiries can be sent to: askwill@vocalvirginia.org.

Communications Assistant, Temporary


VAULT (Virginia Advocates United Leading Together), a cross-disability, nonprofit organization of self-advocates, seeks a 20 hour per week assistant with interest in promoting full lives for people with disabilities. Work includes assistance with newsletter, web research, social networking, web page upkeep, and general office work. Personal experience with disability is desirable.

 

Position is located in Richmond, begins immediately and continues until March 29. Hiring for a permanent position may take place after March. Pay is $18 per hour. Please send resume and cover letter by February 5th to ann.b.benner@gmail.com
