Avianca Airlines
After years of negotiations, Avianca has announced that they will make four direct flights each week from London's Heathrow Airport to Bogota, starting in July 2014. This marks the first time in a decade that direct flights have been offered from the UK to Colombia.
Strong Economy

According to International Business Times, Colombia has now claimed the 3rd spot on the list of Latin America's largest economies. Posting solid gains verses 2013, Colombia has overtaken Argentina and is poised for continued growth due to low interest rates and high consumer demand. Brazil and Mexico hold spots number 1 and 2, respectively.
Hike The Lost City
Located in the Sierra Nevada National Park, near the Caribbean coastal city of Santa Marta, this hidden archaelogical site is the home of an ancient city, believed to have been founded more than a thousand years ago. Winding through dense jungle, over 1,000 stone steps form a series of 169 terraces that were carved into the mountainside. Ancient tiled roads and several circular plazas make up the rest of the site, which is best
accessed on foot. Covering 44 km, this hike is only for the physically fit adventurer, but it is well worth the effort.

Historic New Event Center in Barranquila
Known as Colombia's "Golden Gate" due to its strategic location as  a shipping port, Barranquila has taken a giant step forward toward solidifying its land assets as well. Serving Colombia and the Caribbean, the  Puerta de Oro Caribbean Events Center, a complex of nearly a million square feet on the Magdelana River, will hold its first events in January 2015, although construction will continue through 2016 as the Convention Center and Business Center are completed.
The striking facilities will also feature Fairgrounds, a Ballroom, a Real Estate Development including residential areas, and a Tourist Pavilion.  Sporting the most advanced features in the industry, client comfort will take center stage throughout the modern, spacious event facilities. Private security, simultaneous translation services, tasteful architechture and Wi-Fi Internet throughout the sprawling facility are just some of  the reasons to consider Barranquila and the Puerta de Oro Caribbean Event Center for your future conventions.
Best of Bogotá
Dominating the city-center of the nation's capital,
Monserrate is a tourist attraction, a pilgrim destination, and a perfect vantage point from which to watch the sun set on Bogota. Accessible by train, aerial tram or by hiking, the 3150 meter peak is a great place for a day trip, a relaxing evening or even a meal at one of the two restaurants located there. For the best views of a truly photogenic city, be sure to include Monserrate on your list of activities in Bogota.
The Museum of Gold
Showcasing more than just metal, this museum is a window into the indigenous cultures of days gone by. Containing tens of thousands of artifacts, this is one of the most important collections of pre-Colombian culture in existence. Explore the lost cultures of 13 pre-Hispanic societies, along with their weapons, religious symbols and art that inspired the original legend of El Dorado. Open Tuesday to Sunday.
Historic City and More
Cartagena is not only the 5th largest city in Colombia, it is also one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in all of Latin America. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the colonial walled city offers a glimpse into the lives of the original pirates of the Caribbean.  Cartagena also offers a host of other activities. Try diving the pristine waters in the nearby National Park of Corales del Rosario, relaxing in a volcanic mud pool at Totumo Volcano, exploring tunnels in the castle fort of San Felipe de Barajas, or just enjoying some of the best beaches in the country.
