Air Travel News

Panama has been made much more accessible thanks to two recent announcements in the airline industry.
First among these is the new International Airport in Rio Hato. Allowing travelers to bypass Panama City, this international airport services the Pacific coast beaches, where many tropical resorts are gaining popularity. Located in the province of Cocle, it is officially known as Scarlett Martínez International Airport. Commercial flights will begin operating very soon, and charter flights have already begun.
The second announcement is the recent expansion at the Tocumen International Airport, serving Panama City. Called the "Hub of the Americas", Tocumen's 40 new gates will improve service and allow increased capacity. Currently the only airport in Central America with two runways, it receives daily and weekly flights from major North American, South American and European airlines.

Amador Convention Center

The 194 million USD project that began in 2011 will be up and running this year. The Amador Convention Center consists of a covered 16,500 square meter convention center, meeting rooms, a biodiversity museum, an open-aired 8,000 square meter exhibition area, and restaurants. The new convention center will attract organizers of corporate, religious and leisure events.
Fronting the ocean between the Amador Causeway and Panama's Old City of Casco Antiguo, its location is ideal. Access from the Tocumen airport will be a breeze, as it will have direct connection via the South Corridor, the Cinta Costera (the coastal beltway skirting the city around the bay) and the new sea bridge around Casco Antiguo.
Panama is already a prime destination for international meetings and conferences, with growth in this sub-sector of the tourism industry increasing by over 50% from 2011 to 2012.

Golf in Panama
Emerging as a great golf destination, be sure to bring your clubs when visiting Panama! The leading golf club in Panama is Coronado, located an hour soutwest of Panama City. But keep an eye on up-and-comer Lucero Golf Course (formerly called Cielo Paraíso), located in the highlands at the foot of the Baru Volcano. It has spectacular views and a layout designed by Michael Poellot. It is destined to become one of the most spectacular golf courses in the world. Other great courses to be experienced are the JW Marriott Panama Golf & Beach Resort (designed by Jack Nicklaus), the Tucan Golf Club in Panama City and the Summit Golf Club, just 20 minutes from Playa Bonita Beach. |
Adventure - Panama Style
If you crave adventure and a rush of adrenalin, here are some of the best options in Panama:

* ATV & Horseback riding at our Pacific Beaches
* Snorkelling around tiny tropical islands on the Caribbean
* Kayaking in beautiful beaches and rivers
* River rafting on a world class river. It's even better during the rainy season!
* River tubing and water sports
* Photographing wildlife in their natural environment

Discover the Rainforest
Discover the secrets of the upper rainforest canopy that Charles Darwin once trekked through. Only 45 minutes from the City, the Rain Forest offers a variety of tour options, such as the Aerial Tram, boat rides to Monkey Island, fascinating gardens and river kayaking. The rainforest gives travelers a chance to see the exotic wildlife of Panama up close and in seclusion, without crowds or distractions.
The rainforest is still a wild habitat that allows adventurers to get lost in the lush environment, while still enjoying the safety and education of an experienced tour guide"
