February 2014
In This Issue

Let's dedicate our February issue to St. Valentine's day with a quote of Antoine de Saint-Exupery: "Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction". Saint Valentine's Day is a perfect occasion to express deepest feelings and love. All our IVI DMC destinations have romantic getaways among many other attractions. We would like to share with you the latest news about these destinations. Valid excuses to visit them indeed!

Medical Tourism in Costa Rica

Over the last decade, Costa Rica has evolved from being a mere Eco-tourism destination and has emerged as a country of health care choice for foreigners, particularly from the United States and Canada. These seek quality health care services and surgeries at a much lower price than in their home countries. In a report from McKinsey & Company, it was highlighted that medical tourists from the United States and Canada, prefer Latin American countries such as Costa Rica due to the shorter travel time, affordable costs, and an opportunity for a memorable vacation. Aside from its close proximity to the United States, medical tourists flock to Costa Rica due to its excellent health care system which is ranked even higher than the U.S. by the World Health Organization.
