January 2014
In This Issue

Those of us in the hospitality industry need to constantly be aware of the needs of our customers. These needs tend to change over time. As new trends emerge, we need to successfully meet the demands of our clients and thus continue providing an excellent service. Traditionally, people travel for business and leisure purposes. However, we have seen lately an increase in the demand of destinations that promote ecotourism, adventure, or simply relaxing. With the above in mind, please take a look at the latest developments and trends in our destinations.

Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort.

Three years after launching the successful All- Inclusive concept in its resorts in Cancun, Posadas is bringing the everything is included plan to the Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort. The intent of the concept is to offer guests the opportunity to enjoy their luxury all-inclusive vacations to the fullest, while allowing them to add on massages and body treatments at the award-winning Somma Wine Spa, the only Vinotherapy (wine therapy) spa in Mexico. The all-inclusive rate will cover lodging, drinks, food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks), 24-hour room service, cultural and artistic activities, taxes, and service fees.

Bill Gates Stakes His Claim at Four Seasons Punta Mita Riviera Nayarit

The hotel will have one of the best spas in Mexico and they will substitute the traditional lobby for a Sunset Bar. Now that Cascade Investment, owned by Bill Gates, has purchased the Four Seasons Punta Mita, there are two main projects on the table: one of the best spas in Mexico and a Sunset Bar in place of the traditional lobby. The first project will be the spa, as it is something that had already been started by the previous owners. The current owner, Mr. Gates, is convinced that the area should be completely redone. It is expected to be finished by 2014 and be ready for the holiday seasons. Another distinctive feature of this multi-million dollar upgrade will be the transformation of the traditional lobby into a Sunset Bar, which will give the Four Seasons Punta Mita the distinction of being the first and only hotel in this worldwide chain to have no reception area and no concierge.

New Cancun in 2014 will become reality.

This 2014 will be the year of the consolidation of what is destined to be the new Cancun. This is a mega project with 27,000 hotel rooms and a city of over 300,000 inhabitants in mainland Isla Mujeres - the municipality next to Cancun. Since  last November one more piece of this development has been put into place with the opening of Secrets Hotel in Playa Mujeres. The maximum approved development density is up to 27.000 hotel rooms over a period of up to 30 years . Although some have unsuccessfully tried to name this project as Riviera Mujeres, this mega development has no official name. So far it is composed of four tourist and residential complexes that already have a good percentage of completion: Playa Mujeres, Paraíso Mujeres, Costa Mujeres, and Sotolindo.
