Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! 2013 is off to a roaring start, and we are energized about the upcoming year! The Virginia General Assembly begins Wednesday, January 9th with a short session of 45 days, and we will keep you posted on issues related to breast cancer. Please sign up now to join us for our State Advocacy Day on Thursday, February 9th. You will receive a briefing on legislative priorities and join a team leader to meet your elected officials and advocate for issues to improve breast cancer public policy and the health of Virginians.

In 2013 with your continued support, VBCF will continue offering FREE breast cancer educational resources to all Virginians including our Pink Ribbon bilingual education cards and updated packets for the newly diagnosed. We also plan to enhance our website content and host a breast cancer educational event this year. In addition, we are working on new ways to engage volunteers across the state as VBCF Brand Ambassadors, and we will be sharing this opportunity with you in the near future.

Wishing you good health in the upcoming year,

We Need You!
2013 Breast Cancer Lobby Day Logo
Join us on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the Virginia General Assembly for Breast Cancer Lobby Day. Representatives from cancer groups across Virginia will join together to meet with our elected legislators to discuss issues important to Virginians facing breast cancer.

No training is necessary. VBCF has team leaders that are trained on the legislative priorities for lobby day - we need you to show up and show our legislators that this is an important health care issue. If you would like to become a team leader, call Vernal Branch today at 800-345-8223 ext. 203.

To ease transportation VBCF will charter a bus to take advocates from a designated parking area in the near West End to the General Assembly. Once we arrive, advocates will be briefed on the issues and separated into teams to meet with our Delegates and Senators.

Registration is required.
