Dear Friends,
Time flies when you're having fun...and making a difference! After my first six short months here, I look back and applaud how much you, our VBCF volunteers and supporters, in partnership with our small staff of five have accomplished. We are energized and enthusiastic about National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October but believe, as I hope you do, that the fight against breast cancer should be a priority year round!
As you know, VBCF believes breast cancer is more than a pink ribbon. But we embrace the ribbon as a well-known symbol that can help us raise awareness about this prevalent, invasive, and life-altering disease. Each year, VBCF provides Virginians with free educational resources valued at more than $60,000. Resources are provided every day of the year, but especially in October, to raise awareness and educate about the facts.
As we move into this particularly busy season, I ask you to help us continue our efforts. There are so many ways to do this - volunteer your time at an upcoming event, attend an event, learn the latest facts and research and share it with others, and/or make a gift to VBCF. Help us put an end to breast cancer!
Wishing you a healthy fall season,
Katy Sawyer
Executive Director
