October Early Release Day and Student Holiday

On Friday, October 14, all Fort Bend ISD students will be released early from school. The afternoon is designated for Elementary Parent Conferences, as well as Secondary Professional Learning for District campus staff.

FBISD and AKAs to host Education Expo, Oct. 29
    
The Mu Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, in partnership with Fort Bend ISD's Counseling and Post-Secondary Readiness Department, is hosting its E3 Educational Enrichment Expo, "It's Your World," on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Willowridge High School (16301 Chimney Rock, Houston 77053).

Fort Bend ISD students and parents invited to vote in 2016 Mock Election
 
 
It's election season, and Fort Bend ISD students are participating in the 2016 National Student/Parent Mock Election project. During the Mock Election, FBISD teachers will present classroom lessons and activities to help students gain a better understanding and appreciation of the voting process. Students will conduct research on the voting process, vote online in a mock election, and analyze district and national results.
Board of Trustees' Nov. 7 Listening Tour to be held at Bush High School
 

 

If you missed the FBISD Board of Trustees' first Listening Tour, there are still opportunities to take part in the discussions. The next tour will be held on Monday, November 7, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bush High School (6707 FM 1464, Richmond, 77407). Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Fort Bend ISD's Small Business Enterprise Program, in conjunction with the Houston Community College Small Business Development Program, are teaming up this month for the 2016 Small Business Opportunities workshop on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
McAuliffe Middle School celebrates 30th Anniversary
 
All current and former McAuliffe Middle School "Hawks" are invited to attend the school's 30th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the school (16650 South Post Oak, Houston, 77053). The celebration will include presentations, lunch and a tour down memory lane.
