Fort Bend ISD's CaSE Ratings Available - District receives overall "exemplary" rating
With an eye on ongoing, continuous improvement, Fort Bend ISD has publicly posted the results of the 2016 Community and Student Engagement (CaSE) ratings on the District's website, www.fortbendisd.com. Under House Bill 5, passed by the 83 rd Texas Legislature, all public school districts are required to evaluate their performance in regard to community and student engagement. Districts must assign one of four performance ratings from exemplary to unacceptable.

Fort Bend ISD temporarily suspends construction of Elementary School 49
Fort Bend ISD has temporarily suspended construction of Elementary School 49 due to a recently discovered procurement error. During the August 15 Regular Board Meeting, FBISD's Executive Director of Design and Construction briefed members of the Board of Trustees about the error detected late last week, resulting in the District suspending the project so that proper procurement could take place.

The September 2016 FBISD Board of Trustees meetings will be held on the following dates:
- Sept. 12 - Called Meeting for Public Hearing, 5:30 p.m. / Called Meeting and Agenda Review, 6:00 p.m.
- Sept. 19 - Regular Board Meeting, 6:00 p.m.

2016 Fall Open House Dates
The Fall 2016 Open House dates are as follows:
- High School - August 29 (Austin, Kempner, Marshall, Ridge Point, Willowridge), August 31 (Bush, Clements, Dulles, Elkins, Hightower, Travis, Progressive)
- Middle School - September 8
- Elementary School - September 14 and 15

OptumRx donates school supplies to Fort Bend ISD
 To help Fort Bend ISD students with their back-to-school needs, OptumRx donated nearly 40 backpacks and several boxes full of school supplies to FBISD. The backpacks will benefit students at Mission Glen Elementary School and the school supplies will be donated to the Shared Dreams Program to distribute to students during the school year as needed.

2016 Texas National State Karate Champions in FBISD
 Fort Bend ISD students are among a team of 16 area students that participated in the 2016 Texas National State Karate Championship and Qualifier, considered the largest and most prestigious Karate tournaments in Texas. Competing among 300 of the best Texas athletes, ranging in ages 4-60, the students earned top awards in various divisions of karate and martial arts, including Kata, Kumite and Kobudo.
