FBISD Schools and Offices Closed Week of July 4-8
Fort Bend ISD will be closed Monday, July 4 through Friday, July 8, the week of the Independence Day Holiday. For emergencies, please contact the FBISD Police Department anytime at 281-634-5500. The District will resume its four-day summer work-week (Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) on Monday, July 11.
Data Center Shutdown, July 1-10
The District has also scheduled a complete shutdown of the FBISD Data Center beginning Friday, July 1 at 12:00 p.m. until Sunday, July 10 at 6:00 p.m. due to renovations to the existing center. During that time, all FBISD phone systems will be unavailable.

Businesses invited to FBISD's July 14 workshop
Fort Bend ISD's Business Opportunity Services Team will be hosting a kick-off event for Phase 2 of the 2014 Bond Program on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Fort Bend ISD Warehouse (555 Julie Rivers Drive, Sugar Land 77478). Contractors, sub-contractors, and other interested businesses are invited to learn more about the projects included in Phase 2 of the 2014 Bond Program, which will go out for bid in fall of 2016.

Outdoor facilities open for public use in summer months
As the July 4th holiday approaches, Fort Bend ISD invites the community to visit www.fortbendisd.com to learn what outdoor facilities are available for non-school use and recreational purposes.

The July and August 2016 FBISD Board of Trustees meetings will be held on the following dates:
- July 18 - Regular Board Meeting, 6:00 p.m.
- Aug. 8 - Called Meeting and Agenda Review, 6:00 p.m.
- Aug. 15 - Regular Board Meeting, 6:00 p.m.

Shared Dreams awarded Fort Bend Cares Founders Grant
Fort Bend ISD's Shared Dreams Program is among 29 nonprofits to receive a grant from Fort Bend Cares. This year, Fort Bend Cares awarded nearly $160,000 in grants to nonprofits in honor of their support of disadvantaged youth in Fort Bend County.

High school football season tickets go on sale in August
The 2016 season football tickets for all Fort Bend ISD high schools will be issued in the form of a pass for each seat. The pass will be retained by the purchaser for the season, allowing entry into all Home and Visitor games for that school played in FBISD stadiums.

Elkins High School students attend leadership seminar
Three Elkins High School students - Alan Cummins, Bryanna Godfrey and Matthew Whaley - attended the Gulf Coast Hugh O'Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar June 10-12 to participate in various service-learning and motivation-building activities.
