Elkins High School sophomore takes on role as "Superintendent for the Day"
Day-long experience gives student a glimpse into daily life of FBISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Dupre
When Elkins High School sophomore, Hannah Breaux, met Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Dupre three years ago, she had no idea that her second encounter with the District leader would be as the honorary "Superintendent for the Day." She received the honor after her parents, Lily and Chris Breaux, won the auction item during the Fort Bend Education Foundation's 2016 Gala.
FBISD to host Public Budget Hearing to receive information, comments and taxpayers' views on the proposed budget and tax rates on June 6 at 5:30 p.m.
The FBISD community is invited to attend a public budget hearing on the proposed 2016-17 school district budget and tax rates. The public hearing will be held Monday, June 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the FBISD Administration Building Board Room (16431 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land 77479).
June Board of Trustees Meetings
The scheduled June 2016 FBISD Board of Trustees meetings will be held on the following dates:
  • June 6 - Public Budget Hearing, 5:30 p.m.
  • June 6 - Called Meeting and Agenda Review Workshop, 6:00 p.m.
  • June 20 - Regular Board Meeting, 6:00 p.m.

FBISD's 2016 Graduation Ceremonies are June 3 and 4

Exchange Club of Sugar Land names three FBISD schools as winners in annual Blue Ribbon School Contest
Three Fort Bend ISD schools are winners of the Blue Ribbon School Contest sponsored by the Exchange Club of Sugar Land. The contest invites participants to help spread awareness of Child Abuse and its prevention.
Nearly 200 FBISD athletes sign National Letters of Intent during Spring Scholarship Ceremony
Fort Bend ISD congratulates the nearly 200 high school student athletes, and their families, who were honored at the Spring Scholarship Signing Ceremony held recently at Wheeler Field House. Hosted by FBISD's Athletic Department and MemberSource Credit Union, the event recognized students who signed National Letters of Intent to further their education and continue their athletic career.

Austin High School Science Olympiad team ranks among top performers at State Finals
Congratulations to Austin High School on placing 6th in Division C of the 2016 Texas Science Olympiad State Finals.  Held at Texas A&M University at College Station, the event highlighted the talents and skills of the top science scholars in the state.
Elkins High School Air Force JROTC receives 2015-16 Distinguished Unit Award 
The Elkins High School Air Force JROTC, TX-932, has received the Air Force JROTC Distinguished Unit Award for the 2015-16 school year. Presented by the Headquarters of Air Force JROTC, the award recognizes AFJROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations and have distinguished themselves through outstanding service to their school and community.

Ridge Point High School's Student Council earns statewide recognition
The Texas Association of Student Councils has recognized the Ridge Point High School Student Council for outstanding achievement in leadership, service and promotion of activities that serve to improve the school and community.
Teen Leadership students tour Discovery Green 
Seventh and eighth-grade Teen Leadership students from Fort Settlement and Quail Valley Middle Schools toured Discovery Green, the 12-acre park in the heart of Houston. This year kicks off the park's 5th anniversary.
