Kudos: Recognizing Employees for a Job Well Done!
Congratulations to Kimberley Grady, science teacher at First Colony Middle School, on being honored with the Red Apple Award for the month of September. Each month, Star Furniture partners with KHOU 11's Great Day Houston to recognize a deserving Houston-area teacher. Grady, a former long-time substitute at First Colony, began teaching full-time this year. Her colleague, Mitchell Gottfried nominated her for the Red Apple Award, saying, "She does a great job and the kids love her. We are really proud and happy that she's on staff at First Colony." Grady (shown second from right) is pictured with (from left) Bill Barnum of Star Furniture, Courtney Perna of KHOU 11 and FCMS Principal Scott Wagoner.

Direct Deposit now mandatory for all employees
The majority of Fort Bend ISD employees are paid electronically by Direct Deposit. This benefit has been offered to all employees for many years and became mandatory for employees hired after June 30, 2010.

Effective January 1, 2016, Fort Bend ISD will require all employees to be paid by direct deposit. All employees who are not already enrolled in direct deposit are required to enroll by logging into their My Self Serve account to complete the appropriate direct deposit information or by contacting the Payroll Office.

Beginning with the January 15, 2016 payroll, checks will be sent to the campus/department for employees who have a pending direct deposit. Checks will be held in the Payroll Office for pickup for employees who have not provided direct deposit information. You will be required to provide the direct deposit information, a copy of a voided check or a pre-printed letter from the bank, and a picture ID when the check is picked up.  After the second time an employee comes for his/her check, notification will be sent to the appropriate Supervisor.
