CHURCH MUSICIANS --
CAN WE TALK ABOUT SHARING CHORAL MUSIC?

I have been talking with a few  congregational musicians about the choral music that is overflowing their filing cabinets, wondering if  other congregations would  appreciate the opportunity to borrow rather than buy this same choral music.  If this music/share concept interests you, help us work out  how to do this.  Write me with your suggestions.  Write and tell me what you have to offer to this kind of exchange.  My email is:  rspselca@pacbell.net.  I have in my office a list of music (for starters) that St. Timothy, Monterey, is ready to give away or toss.  Want to see that list?   Email me:  rspselca@pacbell.net or email Amy at office@sttim.org.

Luther's Small Catechism - pocket size
Our offer for copies still stands!
We are pleased to support Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton's
call to "dust off our Small Catechisms and take another look at the basics of our faith."

Some of the resources named above look at the Catechism.

Another is "Praying the Catechism," a thoughtful book by Canadian Lutheran pastor Donald W. Johnson.  "A rediscovery of the capacity of prayer to nurture and restore the faith of the community."

Channing L. Bete's creatively-drawn pamphlets speak to some.  Want to look at "About the Sacrament of Baptism" or "About the Sacrament of Holy Communion"?

Just send us an email:  rspselca@pacbell.net

new at the Resource Center:  TWO VERY TIMELY VIDEOS

"Harvest of Empire" is a powerful documentary that examines the direct connection between the long history of U.S. intervention in Latin America and the immigration crisis we face today.  Based on the groundbreaking book by award-winning journalist Juan Gonza'liez.  92 minutes.

"I Believe You: Faiths' Response to Intimate Partner Violence" is filled with hard-won wisdom of survivors and the insight of clergy and program leaders from Jewish, United Methodist, Presbyterian, ELCA and Muslim faith groups.  Too often the church has been silent about the issue of domestic violence.  This movie is a wake-up call about the "right" thing to do regarding this issue.  57 minutes.
