re:form is a youth faith formation series.  It spans 40 sessions and includes engaging videos, the Anti-workbook, and easy-to-use leaders guide.   The anti-workbook provides individual and group activities to help youth engage the tough faith questions presented in the re:form videos.
re:form videos help youth encounter questions from the historic Christian faith through creative, provocative humor, illustrations and animation.  Questions are presented in a way as to encourage exploration and discovery.
re:form ancestors is a youth Bible study that explores 30 ancestors of the faith.....exposing the real, unpolished, and unexpected personalities of fifteen New Testament  and fifteen Old Testament characters.
re:form traditions provides denomination-specific theology for youth

re:form is one of Augsburg's newer resources.

And, guess what!
It is also the topic of a informational webinar, available free and online.

SOCIAL MEDIA
REACHING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE

How often have you talked about "reaching people where they are"
--
and realized that much of the time, they are on the internet?!
We've been living in a digital world for quite a while now.  Author Justin Wise speaks about social media as this generation's printing press -- a revolutionary technology that can spread the gospel farther and faster that we can imagine.

He says, "Maybe it is time to take what we know (and admit what we don't know) and learn how to move forward as a church.  Are you ready to think theologically about this digital age and reach people in a new way?"

Start your "learning" with one or more of these books -- you can use our online catalog, www.resourcecenterspselca.org or write, rspselca@pacbell.net

"Social Media Guide for Ministry" (What it is and how to use it) - Nils Smith

"The Parish Guide to Social Media" (How social networking can recharge your ministry) -  Aljentera
"The I-Church Method: How to Advance Your Ministry Online"
"Ministry in the Digital Age: Strategies and Best Practices for a Post-Website World"
"The Social Media Gospel: Sharing the Good News in New Ways" - Meredith Gould
(Ms. Gould was pictured and quoted in the last issue of The Lutheran
in an article on social media and the church.
)
"The Social Church - a theology of digital communication" - Justin Wise

Thanks to  THRIVENT FINANCIAL....

The Synod Resource Center recently received a $500 "Hands On" grant from the Fresno County Chapter of Thrivent to help cover costs of library supplies as we have done major inventory and "fixing up."

The Synod Resource Center can now be found in the catalog of recipients when you click on Thrivent Choice.  We invite you to "choose" the Resource Center next time you make quarterly designations of your Choice Dollars.
We are excited to have opportunity to experience your generosity and Thrivent's through this program which provided $49 million during 2013 to congregations, Lutheran schools, social ministries and other non-profits.  If you are a Thrivent member, and not acquainted with Choice Dollars, take a look at their website and see how easy it is, or call 800-847-4836.
