From Our President |
The iRun4Life running season is here! Thanks to the support and dedication of parents, teachers, schools, and our iRun4Life partners and representatives, iRun4Life is now thriving in 21 elementary schools!
iRun4Life is dedicated to provide mentoring and support for our many members. Our February Director's Munch & Mingle was a great way to meet and greet old and new faces while sharing 2013 iRun4Life additions such as: new website resources, Train the Trainer workshops, group runs, guest speakers, new 3K updates, and much more.
We look forward to an exciting season as we encourage our young runners to find the FUN in getting FIT while they build strength, confidence, and foster healthy lifestyles 4Life.

Meet Our New Advisory Board Member |
Gert Freas I am so excited with this great opportunity to work with iRun4Life. I have been a certified personal trainer for 9 years. This has opened up many opportunities to work with people of all ages and ability. I have helped many reach their own goal, from running everything from 5k's to marathons, qualifying for the Boston Marathon, losing weight, maintaining current physical abilities to improving sports endurance. I have worked directly with a soccer team to help increase their flexibility and develop their core strength. For several years I was responsible for the CYO sports registration process and notification. This included the newsletter write-up, flyers to be sent home with the students, securing a room to be used for sign-ups and the actual registration/collecting money and the information of the students. On a personal note, I am a runner myself. I started running 5k's about 15 years ago. I progressively went from 5k's to ultra marathons and every distance In between. Most recently I completed an ultra marathon where I ran 122 miles in 24 hours.
I know the patience it takes to go from being a non-runner to running a 5k.
My business experience in sales, has given me the know how to get to the correct person within a business to request community involvement/ support.
I feel the mixture of my business and sports involvement will help me be a great asset to the iRun4Life organization. |
