Nominations Open for Green Building Awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2nd Annual Boulder Valley Green Building Awards, offered by the Colorado Green Building Guild and the Boulder County Business Report. All interesting, unique, planet-friendly buildings are encouraged to apply, even if your building doesn't have fancy certifications or awards. The selection criteria will recognize interesting dynamic entries worthy of recognition for enlightenment, creativity and leadership. All nominations must be submitted by April 22, 2013. Read more. |

BC Properties in Louisville is owned and managed by Rich Carlisle. After having energy assessments performed by EnergySmart and Xcel Energy, Rich replaced all of his T12 fluorescent fixtures and incandescent lamps with energy efficient T8, T5, and LED lamps. "The savings in power along with the reduced stress on the HVAC system and the overwhelming appreciation from the tenants makes this one of the best investments I have made in Commercial Real Estate," said Rich. After rebates totalling over $8,000, the lighting upgrade cost was $5,200. The savings are anticipated to be approximately $2,200 per year on energy bills.

Great Offering in Longmont!
The Business Efficiency Grant Program is available to all Longmont Power and Communications business customers beginning now through December 1, 2013. On its own, the Business Efficiency Grant Program will provide up to $5,000, or a limit of 75% of total costs, for qualifying projects after all rebates are applied. The service can also be used in conjunction with other efficiency rebate programs. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Training is offered on March 12.
