Jitney coming to Avalon & Stone Harbor for Summer Season
Starting Memorial Day weekend, and running through Labor Day weekend, the Atlantic City Jitney Association will be taking its eco-friendly Jitneys to the Seven Mile Beach.
The tentative plan is to drive north on Second Avenue/Dune Drive and south on Ocean Drive/Third Avenue.
The fee to ride will be $2 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and $4 from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Catch a ride on these 13-passenger, air-conditioned, natural gas powered vehicles through the summer! They will be available from Memorial Day weekend through June on Friday through Sunday and seven days a week from from July through Labor Day weekend.
More details will follow as we get closer to the summer season (only 109 days to go), so check visitavalonnj.com or stoneharborbeach.com for more information!

Avalon Coffee...It's a Shore Thing
2898 Dune Drive, www.avaloncoffeecompany.com
In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, the town of Avalon bounced quickly back and began business as usual before Thanksgiving...with the exception of Wawa, which remains closed and hopes to open in early March.
What was a town of avid coffee drinkers and sandwich lovers to do? Avalon Coffee to the rescue! Normally a seasonal business that closes for a break through the winter, Avalon Coffee Co. owners, Mike Nestor and Sean Ford, made the decision to remain open in the absence of Wawa.
Avalon Coffee's Avalon location has remained open through the winter months daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering its full menu of delicious breakfast sandwiches, muffins, crescents, smoothies, sandwiches...and of course, coffee.
In addition, the company is also available for off-premise catering offering fresh bagels, sandwiches, sweets and coffee to go. This opportunity is perfect for business meetings, wedding brunches, family lunches and much more.
So the next time you're in a coffee crunch, remember. Avalon Coffee was there for you in your time of need!

Calling All Shop-A-Holics!
March 1-3, The Princeton and The Whitebrier
It's almost here, the most anticipated weekend at the Seven Mile Beach. Well, maybe the second most anticipated next to Memorial Day Weekend. Shop-A-Holics Weekend, scheduled for March 1, 2, and 3, 2013 returns with designers, deals and drinks.
Two Avalon venues, The Princeton and The Whitebrier, return with delicious cocktails to assist in the shopping frenzy. The event starts 6-9 p.m. Friday, March 1. The $5 cover charge that night will be donated to the Cape May County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. On Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., please bring a donation of some kind, monetary or otherwise, to benefit the shelter. Click here to view the shelter's donation wish list.
Most important, get to shopping! Each venue will feature local stores and great discounts on clothing, shoes, accessories and home decor.

3rd Annual Stone Harbor Shiver
Saturday, March 9 - 96th Street, Stone Harbor
On Saturday, March 9, more than 300 visitors to Stone Harbor will voluntarily jump into the frigid Atlantic Ocean. With temperatures in the teens this week, we can only hope that the weather will be slightly warmer in a month.
The 3rd Annual Stone Harbor Shiver will be held at the 96th Street Beach and will include music, costume contests and awards, games, food and fun. This year, the event committee selected three beneficiaries for the event: Friend In Need, the Cape May County Special Services School District and the Stone Harbor 9/11 Memorial Fund.
New this year will be the event's MC, the beloved Dan Skeldon, NBC40 weatherman. Save the date - and get ready for a cold shock. Fingers crossed the weather is full of sunshine and warm breezes!
Don't forget about the other great Shiver events! The Yacht Club of Stone Harbor will host the annual Pre-Plunge party with great food and auction items. This is where you can also pick up your registration packet and pre-register your team for the costume and name contest. Also visit Fred's Tavern on Saturday morning for the Kegs and Eggs Party and the start of the first-ever Plunge Parade that will travel down 96th Street to the beach.
