TRINITY'S 35 YEAR CANGE PARTNERSHIP CONTINUES
This Friday morning, eleven Trinity parishioners will be flying to Haiti for a five-day visit with our Haitian partners in Cange and the surrounding area. One of the activities of our packed days will be a hike to Trinity's adopted village and school at Morne Michel. This "hike" is a rugged trek which is a well known test of the fitness of many non-Haitians! Trinity Cathedral was deeply involved in the building and continued support of this school for the children in Morne Michel.
Another day will bring a visit and individual time with students at the CFFL (Centre Formation Fritz Lafontant). This is the vocational school named in honor of Father Lafontant. This school was founded after the 2010 earthquake and is a powerful expression of the dream of people in Cange and in the Diocese of Upper SC that Haitians in the Central Plateau can have a high level school to learn skills for jobs and entrepreneurship. CFFL is also the place where many gifts have been given in honor of The Rev. Canon Robert Riegel after his retirement. The Trinity Foundation is overseeing those gifts and that fund is still open for those who want to honor Bob.
These are only two of our full list of activities, and there will be many stories to tell upon our return, but until then please add to your prayers those who will be traveling as well as their families tending things at home:
Tim Jones, Patsy Malanuk, Jonathan Vipperman, Bunsy Craig, Adam Dougherty, Anna Griswold, Rocky Hughey, Anne Postic, Sean Rankin, Glenda Wolfe and Rhett Wolfe

Newcomers: After Sunday services, someone will be present by the baptismal font (on the left side as you face the altar) to welcome you and answer any questions you might have about Trinity Cathedral.
We encourage everyone to wear nametags as a means of promoting hospitality and friendship. If you have not picked yours up, please come to the south porch following the 9:00 and 11:15 Sunday morning Cathedral services. You may also complete a form to request a new or replacement nametag.
We now host a time for coffee every week in the Daughters of the Holy Cross room (across from Satterlee Hall) after the 9:00 a.m. Sunday service.

It's approaching the time for the hygiene kits to be assembled for Church Women United. The supplies needed are combs, toothbrushes, bars of soap, tubes of toothpaste, face cloths and hand towels. Collection boxes will be available at every service on Apr. 28th, and there will be a collection box by the desk in the cathedral office from Monday Apr.29 through Wednesday May 1.
I'll collate the supplies on Thursday, May 2, and the various agencies will pick them up at The CWU May Friendship Day celebration Friday, May 3. Last year the agencies receiving supplies included: Telamon - outreach to migrant workers in SC, The Free Medical Clinic, Sistercare, Hannah House, St. Lawrence Place, Transitions, and Oliver Gospel Mission.
This year CWU will celebrate May Friendship Day at Haskell Height Baptist Church, 1231 Blue Ridge Terrace St. Registration is at 10:30 and the program begins at 11. Everyone is welcome, and I hope some Trinity parishioners will be able to attend. Thank you - Connie Britt

GIVING MATTERS
from Dean Tim Jones
The Cathedral continues to offer thriving programs. We are experiencing joy and renewed expectancy. However, our pledged giving continues to lag behind our projections and hopes. I'm hoping and praying for even more open-handed giving. To keep you informed about how we are doing, we will offer you a snapshot, week-to-week, of exactly how well we are moving toward an even more contagious generosity.
