star Parent Information Meeting
This Coming Sunday, September 11th

All parents of children birth through 5th grade are encouraged to join us for a Parent Information Meeting in the Theatre this coming Sunday, September 11th at 10:10 am. 
This meeting will cover: upcoming events, updating contact information and updating student waiver forms for the coming year.
star MissionRetreat Children's Mission Retreat
Friday - Saturday, October 7th - 8th
6:30 pm - 10:00 am
3rd - 5th Graders
Plan now for this trip of a lifetime! We'll be enjoying our late night snacks and playing Scripture Spy while flying to "Africa". Don't forget to bring your sleeping bag, pillow, roll of quarters, Bible, and comfortable traveling clothes. Permission slips will be needed for all students attending the Mission Retreat and will be available next week for those who still need one after the Parent Information Meeting.
Parents...there are opportunities for involvement during the Missions Retreat. Consider one of these ways you can help:
- 2 people to help coordinate snacks for the plane
- Adults to help chaperone kids to the airport, pilot the plane, serve as custom guards and ticket agents.
- Adults to spend the night with us in Africa (aka HFN).

Church at the Fair
Sunday, September 18th

Invite your family and friends to join you for Church @ the Fair on Sunday, September 18th. We will worship at the Bretz and Young Law Arena on the Kansas State Fairgrounds at 10:00 am. 
star Complimentary Tickets are available through today at the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer or Kids FoyerYou are welcome to use these tickets to invite unchurched friends and family. Although 
tickets are free, we are asking HFN members/attenders to consider purchasing the tickets they will need. Any contributions toward Church @ the Fair are greatly appreciated.
star Children, K-5th grade, will be helping lead worship at the Fair. Parents, please email Kristi Brinar by this coming Sunday, September 11th, to let us know if your child will be participating and their shirt size. 
star A Traditional Worship Service will also be held at HFN in the Sanctuary beginning at 9:15 on Sunday, September 18th. Scott McPherson will be leading in worship with Pastor Bones Nay and Dr. Mark Glover sharing.
Financial Peace University
Wednesdays, Beginning September 21st
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

Ladies Bible Studies To Begin Soon
star Tuesday Mornings: Victory in Spiritual Warfare: Outfitting Yourself for the Battle by Tony Evans will begin Tuesday, September 27th at 9:00 am in the Fireside Room. Florence Schneider will be facilitating this 8-week study. Cost for materials will be $15. Child care will be available. For more information or to register please contact the Church Office.
star Tuesday Afternoons: Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver will begin Tuesday, September 27th at 1:30 pm at the home of Janet Singleton, 1609 B Aurora Drive. This 10-session study teaches how all of us can draw closer to our Lord, deepening our devotion, strengthening our service, and doing both with less stress and greater joy. For more information or to register for this class please contact Janet Singleton.
star Tuesday Evenings: Nehemiah by Kelly Minter will begin Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00 pm in Room 107. This 7-week study challenges women to let God break their hearts for a hurting, lost world and move them in compassion to lead people to Jesus. star Thursday Evenings: Heroes of the Faith by David Jeremiah will begin Thursday, September 29th at 7:00 pm in Room 309. Discover the list of God's heroes and learn why they were chosen. Hebrews 11 is the only place you'll find God's list. Each person in God's Hall of Fame was chosen for only one reason: They possessed great faith. For more information contact Jan Clark.
Kansas District Ladies Retreat

All ladies are invited and encouraged to attend the Kansas District Ladies Retreat to be held at the Wichita Doubletree Airport Hotel on Friday and Saturday, September 30th & October 1st. Guest Speaker and Worship Leader will be Kim McLean, award winning songwriter, elder in the Church of the Nazarene and council member of Come To the Fire Women's Conferences. This is sure to be a refreshing and energizing time of worship and spiritual renewal. Informational brochures are available at either Welcome Center. HSM "Live Your Faith" Challenge
Over the course of the fall semester High Schoolers can earn points by attending Wednesday & Sunday Services, Sunday Morning Small Groups, bringing friends, serving in different ministries in the church, and getting "Caught in the Act" of being Christ-like. Click here for a flyer with all of the details. The student who accumulates the most points will be given the choice between a 16 gb iPad Mini, Beats Headphones, or a 2017 Winter Retreat Full Scholarship. Please encourage your student to "Live Out" their faith and be a part. Also, please remind your student to make sure they are turning in their activity each week as that is how they will receive credit. 
Wednesday Night Meals
6:30 in the Lewis Family Life Center
$2 meals are served in the Lewis Family Life Center prior to our Go Culture Gathering each Wednesday. Parents, please be sure to send $2 with your student to pay for the meal. If you are interested in helping with the cooking or clean-up, we could use some additional volunteers to add to our rotation. Please contact Pastor Josh if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
Parents of Seniors Night Out
This Coming Sunday, September 11th
Olive Garden at 6:00 pm
On Sunday, September 11th at 6:00 pm, HFN High School Ministry is having a "Parents of Seniors Night Out". We'll plan on meeting at Olive Garden first to enjoy dinner together, and then we'll head to the Moore's for coffee and fellowship time afterwards. Each couple/individual will be responsible for the cost of their own meal, however, dessert & coffee will be provided. If you can make it, please contact Pastor Josh via email, text, or Facebook.
Naz Night @ Kansas State Fair
Next Wednesday, September 14th
The Go Culture Student Ministry will meet at the Kansas State Fair next Wednesday. We have sold out of concert tickets, but interested students and/or families can still get tickets at the box office at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. (Our main group will be sitting in the lower part of section H.) In leu of ordering new shirts this year, we will plan to wear our turquoise & green youth group shirts. They are $10. There will be a group that will gather at the Moore's house, 305 Crescent Blvd., at 6:30 that night and go over to the fair together. Students can be dropped off, or, people are welcome to park in our driveway. Parking space is limited, so come a little early to park Students that are dropped off can also be picked up at our house following the concert.
2016 Enchilada Fundraiser
Sales Begin TODAY, September 7th
Enchilada Sales Packets are available today. All middle & high school students are encouraged to check out a packet and sell! Order forms & payments are due back Wednesday, September 21st! Production Day has been scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd. Every student that sells enchiladas must be present for Production Day. If a student has a prior commitment, a parent can come in their place. This is a great opportunity to add to student accounts. Don't let your student miss the opportunity to raise money for Lock-In, Winter Retreat, Xtreme/Max, Mission Trip, etc...!

Open Door Pregnancy Care Center Fundraiser: The Steel Wheels performing under the stars near Yoder, Kansas Monday, September 19th at 6:30 pm. A portion of proceeds will benefit Open Door Pregnancy Care Center. Tickets $36 may be purchased here. Complimentary coffee and refreshments at intermission (bring your own chair).
