IF Gathering February 5-6, 2016

The IF Gathering is a 2 day event for women of all ages, cultures and denominations. Women from around the world will gather together in local groups to worship, pray, study Scripture and grow deeper in their relationship with God and others.

Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, February 10th

Make plans now to join us for a special Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 10th, beginning at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Ash Wednesday marks the start of the season of Lent, which begins 40 days prior to Easter. 
starBible Max will meet at 6:30 pm for children Kindergarten through 5th grades. Nursery will be provided for children birth through 3 years of age.

Marriage Oneness
Beginning Wednesday, February 17th
6:30 pm in Room 106

Do you want to create oneness in your marriage relationship? It's where you and me become we. In these dynamic, video-based sessions, Marriage Oneness equips couples to grow in true intimacy, connection, and purpose and experience closeness for a lifetime in seven key areas: Communication, Conflict Resolution, Money, Spiritual Beliefs, Sexual Intimacy, Roles and Responsibilities, and Family and Friends. Cost for materials is $25 per couple. If you are interested in attending this 8 session class led by Dr. Mark Glover, please contact the church office.

star Children's Clothing Now Accepted
Our NMI Council is now accepting all seasons of Children's Clothing, sizes 5T - 16 for the next School Clothes Give Away. This clothing may be newly purchased or gently used and clean with no holes/tears or repairs needed. We are at this time only accepting shirts/tops or shorts/pants (please no undergarments, shoes or socks). You may leave your contributions in the Garden Foyer (by the West Entrance) or South Foyer at your convenience.

Auction Fundraiser
Save the Date: Sunday, March 13, 2016
Our 2016 Auction is quickly approaching!!! Students can turn in their collected donations now and the sooner the better as the Early Item Submission Bonuses will soon begin to expire! Auction Packets are still available in the East Foyer and there's still plenty of time to participate. Students who earned all four shares in this past year's auction earned around $500 to help pay for camp, mission trip, MAX, Xtreme, etc.

Kansas Xtreme

Kansas Xtreme is a sports and talent competition for students across the Kansas District. All middle and high school students are invited to compete in a wide variety of categories and events to qualify for MAX @ MNU later in April.

star Attendance Rule: Each participant must meet the attendance rule (attend 5 of the 6 Mid-Week Gatherings leading up to the event, some exceptions apply)
star Students can compete in up to 3 talent and 2 team events, but no more. For instructions on individual entries, please see Pastor Josh or Joni.
star Competitive categories include: Bible Quizzing, painting, drawing, photography, creative art, drama, human video, dance, worship band, singer/songwriter, math test, preaching, persuasive speech, vocal solo and ensemble, instrumental solo and ensemble, table tennis, bowling, 3-point shoot out, 5K run, tennis, co-ed dodgeball, 7 on 7 football, guys/girls middle/high school basketball, ladies volleyball, and 4 on 4 beach volleyball.
Dillon's Card Fundraiser
We've just begun a new calendar year and that means its time to login to your Dillon's Shoppers Card Account online and re-designate HFN as the beneficiary of your Community Rewards. 
To do this, go to www.dillons.com
login with your username and password, click the "community" tab near the top
select "Community Rewards." On the page that comes up, either use our "Organization Code" which is 10140, or simply type in "First Church of the Nazarene".  A list of organizations should appear, and choose the one with the address of "4290 N. Monroe". 
After you've done this, you're all set and you can know that for the remainder of 2016, a portion of what you spend at Dillon's on qualifying purchases will benefit HFN's Middle and High School Ministry!

"Break Out" Night
Next Wednesday, February 3rd
Following our regular dinner and worship time at HFN on Wednesday, February 3rd, our D-Groups will travel to an alternate location to meet. Transportation will be provided from the church to the off-site location. Students, please bring $5 that night to purchase something at the gathering place. Parents will pick up their student off site at 8:30 pm.

High School Dinner & Movie
Saturday, February 20
All High School students are encouraged to join us on Saturday, February 20th, for Dinner & a Movie. We will leave the church parking lot at 5:30 pm to go to dinner and then the movie afterward (around 7:00 pm). $20 per student will cover the cost of the meal and movie. Our restaurant and movie will be announced soon. We'll return to the church by 9:30 pm.

2016 Spring Break Mission Trip
March 20-24, 2016
Deadline to sign up: Sunday, March 6th
Our Junior/Senior/College Spring Break Mission Trip dates for this year will be March 20-24. On Sunday, March 20th, we will leave Hutchinson early in the morning in route to Galveston, TX where we will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and The Salvation Army during the day and enjoy some down-time together in the evenings. We will return to Hutchinson on Thursday. The cost of the trip will be $150 per person and will include everything except for spending money. All interested high school juniors and seniors and college students sign up at the East Entrance by Sunday, March 6th. For more information contact Pastor Josh.
Winter Jam 2016
Friday, March 11th
Intrust Arena in Wichita, KS
Matthew West, Red, For King & Country, Crowder, KB, Trip Lee, and Tedashii are some of the groups that will be performing at Winter Jam 2016. A limited number of seats are available and all students interested in going must sign up at the East Foyer. Cost per person will be $35. Students will need to be at the church by 3 pm to leave and everyone will need money for dinner at the concert. We will return to HFN around midnight.

Middle School Sunday Funday
Sunday, February 7th
Immediately following morning services on Sunday, February 7th all 6th - 8th grade students are invited to join us for our first Sunday Funday! The girls will be meeting for lunch and working on a Valentine take-home project, and the boys will be meeting for lunch and playing games in the Gym (dodge ball, toilet paper dodge ball, monkey ball, etc.). The cost is $5, and a rsvp is appreciated (so we know about how much food to prepare), but not necessary.
Winter Jam 2016

Christian Music's Largest Annual Tour
Intrust Arena, Wichita Kansas
Middle school students interested in attending Winter Jam Concert, contact Pastor Mark Hall. Reservation is secured with $15 payment or agree to pay from your student account. Seating is limited to the first 25 kids, and is first come/first serve. Transportation provided and will leave from the church at 4:00 pm. Bring $8-$10 to eat dinner at the Intrust Arena. We should arrive back at the church around 12:00 midnight.

Congratulations to Austin and Lacy Dimitt Wiggins on the birth of their first child, Noah Ray, born on Friday, January 15th at 9:02 pm. Noah was 20 inches long and weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces at birth. Congratulations are also in order for grandparents Don and Virginia Dimitt as they welcome their first grandchild, and aunts and uncles, Louden & Micaela, Lane and Landon.

End of Year Contribution Statements have been mailed and you should have received them recently. Please feel free to contact the church office if you did not receive your statement or have a question about your statement.

Numbered contribution envelopes for 2016 are available at the West Entrance. These envelopes have been personalized with a number distinctive to your family for quick reference by the treasurer to record your tax deductible tithes and offerings. If you do not have a set, please let the church office know and we will be happy to get you one.

Check the Lost & Found: This coming Sunday will be the last day to retrieve any unclaimed items from the Lost and Found. The Lost and Found file cabinet is located behind the South Entrance Welcome Center. Be sure to stop by this Sunday to pick up your items. All remaining items will be donated February 1st.
