Highlighting New GenMove Partnerships & Programs We are excited to announce that we are joining up with Special Olympics South Carolina to develop new games & activities, equipment and training to strengthen the Young Athletes Program in our state! We are working in conjunction with the Project UNIFY & Young Athletes Programs, which are an innovative sports play program for children with intellectual disabilities and their peers. These programs are designed to introduce them into the world of sports. The program is set up for participation from children with and without intellectual disabilities to participate in YAP activities, and mutually learn from and enjoy working and playing with each other. The focus of this program is to create and implement activities that develop and improve physical, cognitive, and social skills. GenMove is working to design standards based games and activities that offers the Special Olympics Program an assessment tool for teachers and coaches to measure the improvement of each student athlete in the development of motor, movement, and sports skills. GenMove will now offer a specifically designed Special Olympics Young Athletes Games & Activities Programming Book, Equipment Package and Training to participating schools, teachers, and coaches. First Special Olympics-GenMove Training Workshops: July 26th: Charleston, SC July 31st: Columbia, SC

PlayToday! Foundation's mission is to change the social and cultural perception of what special needs people can do through recreation that includes informal play, sports, and community engagement. They do this by challenging existing "Miracle League style" entities to broaden and deepen their impact within the community. Additionally, the PlayToday! Foundation serves as a partner consultant for those organizations who are just starting the process of building an adaptive sports and play complex. The goal is to give people of ALL abilities the chance to PLAY, especially those who face significant challenges in their lives.
GenMove's goal is to create customized and specialized equipment, games & activities, and training programs that are designed to offer PlayToday! members a multi-sport system increasing inclusive play as well as serving as and additional resource to their PlayTherapy! Module. We are excited to develop these packages as a resource and tool for PlayToday! Foundation to use in furthering the impact of their mission.
