D3 Multisport -The Extra Mile
September 2012 - Issue #120
Greetings!

Greetings! At D3, Our coaches at D3 are obsessed with getting faster, which is what makes them such solid coaches. They want to know what works, what doesn't work, and are always willing to try new things and be on the cutting edge of technology. They work hard and expect their athletes to work just as hard executing the weekly schedule and race plans on the big day. Over the last 20+ years we've been using a technique called sport focus or 'Sport Rotation' plans that allow athletes to focus on one sport at a time, in order to improve their weaknesses. We still maintain fitness in the other two sports, but the goal of a sport rotation plan is to get better at one thing. Our philosophy is that if you are always training with a balanced approach of swim, bike and run, you'll have a very hard time getting better at the sports that are holding you back from reaching your potential. If you want to read more about 'Sport Rotation', you can do so here. If you have questions or comments about this article, please let me know!

This month's articles feature a great article by Coach Julia and how to have fun and 'Success with a Fall Running Program' - which fits in nicely with our idea of 'Sport Rotation'. We have another great article from Coach Brett on 'Fueling the Body Correctly' and this is one you should definitely read. Coach Brett's done an amazing job over the last year with transforming his nutrition, advising his athlete's on their nutrition and getting more out of his training and his athlete's training by making easy, simple changes.

In addition, this month congratulate our MIX D3 Athlete of the Month Megan Storms. Read about a great lady and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She's an inspiration to all of us and with her work ethic she'll be on top of the podium soon.

Lastly, if you are looking for a running plan be it for a 5k all the way up to the marathon, check out our links below - these are brand new plans that have been tested, retested and used to PR at every distance. You can't go wrong with this affordable, well thought out plans. We've even added access to our D3 Members Only forum so you can ask our coaches questions about your training plan.

Have a great month and enjoy the change in temperatures. I know I will!

Best Regards,
