The Arts Engine

Dear Friend,

This week more than 1,000 arts and community leaders will convene in Pittsburgh for the 2013 Americans for the Arts Annual Convention. Pittsburgh is a fitting host for this conference; over the last several decades, Pittsburgh has met a challenge faced by many other regions: growing an arts audience in a slow-growth city with an aging population. In advance of the Americans for the Arts Conference, PittsburghTODAY is releasing a report titled, The Arts Engine, exploring how Pittsburgh's arts initiatives have created a national community development model.

The Pittsburgh Foundation's 2012 annual Day of Giving results.

The entire report, including five sub-stories about specific components of the region's arts scene, can be found on our website by clicking here.

Thanks for your interest,
