Unemployment rate dips slightly
Dear Friend,

The Pittsburgh region's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in March was 7.3 percent, which was slightly lower than the rate in February 2013 (7.5 percent, which was revised upward) but 0.3 percentage points higher than the rate in March 2012. Pittsburgh's rate was the same as the benchmark average.

The number of unemployed in the Pittsburgh MSA increased by 4.6 percent in March 2013 compared to March 2012. The number of employed also increased year-over-year as did the total labor force.

Thanks for your interest,
