A new look for PittsburghTODAY, Jobs and Energy Employment
|
Dear Friend,
We are pleased to release our slightly redesigned homepage today. Our goal with implementing these changes, is to make sure that the work and information that PittsburghTODAY produces is easily accessible. We hope you find the new look of PittsburghTODAY.org to be a good one, and we would value hearing any thoughts you might have regarding the new homepage design. The total nonfarm job figure for December 2012 in the Pittsburgh region was 1,176,500 and the year-over-year growth rate was 0.6 percent, which was below the benchmark average of 1.4 percent. However, over the f ive-year period from December 2007 to December 2012, the Pittsburgh region gained 19,800 nonfarm jobs. These figures show that the region is performing comparatively stronger than all of our benchmark regions. Pittsburgh's job growth rate over the past five years was 1.7 percent. In addition, we recently updated our indicator on energy-related employment, which shows an 8.8 percent increase in the Pittsburgh region between 2010 and 2011.
Thanks for your interest,
