Pittsburgh experiencing continued job growth
Dear Friend,
The total nonfarm job figure for
November 2012 in the Pittsburgh region was 1,179,600, and the year-over-year job growth rate was 0.7 percent
, which was below the benchmark average of 1.3 percent. Denver had the highest year-over-year job growth rate at 2.7 percent.
However, over the five-year period from
November 2007 to November 2012, the Pittsburgh region gained 19,900 nonfarm jobs
. These figures show that the region is performing comparatively stronger than all of our benchmark regions. Pittsburgh's job growth rate over the past five years was 1.7 percent.
