Who would want to get Cindy Lu... Who? Who?
Cindy Lu was told by Board Member Mark K. that a lot of the animosity is because she took down a Railroad display that was in The El Capitan Room aka Poker Room in February before the reopening of LT. For the last time... the display was taken down because the Museum failed to keep the display clean. Cindy Lu was told by the NM Heath Dept that where customers sit the area must be clean. The beads that hung in the door way to The El Capitan were taken down when LT started to serve food in Feb 2012. A display case was moved in March of 2012. The maps that hung on the wall of The Poker Room were covered with a plastic that was old and brittle and hard to keep clean. This issue to move the displays was brought up to the board. It was agreed that the train displays were to be moved to The Americana Room and the photos of old Lamy could be displayed in the Poker Room.
Perfect fit the mission statement of the Museum.
Thom was going to give the commission from any paintings sold to the Museum. Sam Latkin was aware the day the display was taken down and approved it. THEN the very next day decided that it was not OK.
While we're on displays... remember the old photos of the history of Lamy that hung on the wall in The Dance Hall?
That display was removed and The Can Can Girls painted on the wall. That happened in Nov 2012. Not hearing much about that display taken down.
