Greetings!
We're presenting a dual focus in this newsletter:
1) The upcoming table tennis events of the April 2013 Texas State Senior Games held right here in San Antonio and
2) a brief report on the February 2013 San Antonio Winter Open Table Tennis Tournament.
Both of these events hosted by San Antonio Table Tennis Club.
The SA expression of the popular, world-wide, healthful, recreational, Olympic sport of table tennis continues to grow. Many thanks to all of you who are making this happen.
Incidentally, as always, if you do not want to continue receiving this newsletter, please use the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of this page.
Sincerely,
Loren Williams
President, San Antonio Table Tennis Club

San Antonio 2013 Winter Open
February 23-24 - sanctioned by USA Table Tennis
RESULTS - FINALISTS
Our first "sanctioned" (national ratings) tournament - at least the first in modern times. And with some misgivings because, for the past several years, our tournaments all have been of the recreational variety. But they came, 68 TT athletes in total. Success!
Geographically, 31 local players from San Antonio, 20 from Austin, 3 from Houston, 3 from Corpus Christi, 3 from McAllen and one each from Harlingen, San Marcos and Dublin, Texas.
Outside Texas, we had one each from Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota and North Carolina. Plus one rising young TT athlete from Mexico.
Ten new / renewing USATT members signed on plus another 15 took advantage of the USATT one-time tournament pass option in order to play; they can decide later about full USATT membership.
A few teaser photos here . . . but many more are now posted for viewing in two slideshows on our website www.satabletennis.org.
60+ photos were shot on Saturday and 40+ on Sunday, courtesy of Edmund Lo and posted by our webmaster Luis Berrones. If you want keepsake copies of individual photos, they are available for $5 each from Edmund Lo. Just identify which photo(s) you want - for example, "Sunday 6/43", and contact Edmund by email at edloyzk@yahoo.com
Tentatively, we plan to hold also a summer "open", say July or August, either sanctioned or recreational. Or maybe both as separate events. Let us know if you have a preference.
