We departed on January 18 for the HITS Thermal Circuit in California! We are excited to spend time on the west coast, and are looking forward to success! We are enjoying all our SmartPak and Back on Track products as well as Niagara Equissage, all helping our horses stay comfortable, functional, and maintaining their well-being. Thank you also to Ariat for some new show gear!
The first week of showing in California went great! Alex Ansteth and Talkin' Smak, owned by Hi Hollow Farm, had a blue ribbon day on January 25, along with a win in the First Year Green Conformation on

Last week, Bernadette Mulliken was a class winner on Russian Hill in the High Adult Jumpers! Riding with us for the first half, Didi McKenzie had also earned class wins as well as Reserve Champion in the Adult Hunters. Horse trials and sales, good friends and great weather sum up our enjoyable time in Thermal week II.

The Reiners have enjoyed their time at home from a show-packed end of the year, and are gearing up for their first show in Ardmore the second weekend of February.
In other news, the team is also excited about starting the two-year-olds here at the ranch. Our newly graduated three-year-olds are looking good so far and once again bringing our hopes for this year's Futurity!

Cade and Carlee McCutcheon also had a great Christmas break from school, having plently of opportunities to ride with us, both on their Reiners and Carlee on her Hunter pony! Carlee also had a wonderful Christmas with their new beagle puppy, Annie!

Tim and Colleen, as well as Mandy and Tom McCutcheon had a wonderful visit to the SmartPak headquarters in Plymouth, MA in January. The group had a great three days learning all about the SmartPak company and horse supplements. Tim says he was very impressed at how smooth the SmartPak company runs, and had a lot of fun seeing where his favorite supplements are manufactured!

From the Breeding Barn...
Introducing our first foal of 2012! A beautiful, healthy filly was born Saturday, January 21 around 9pm. She is by Gunner and out of Dun Its Deja Vu.
Filly number two arrived the morning of January 27, 2012, and she is also by Gunner and out of Tivios Little Queen. Two colts were born on February 2, one by Smart And Shiney and out of Always Gotyer Gunsup, and the other by Gunner out of Alexa Lena. Another filly by Gunner and out of Fatal Attrashion was born on February 2, and we then welcomed a buckskin filly by Gunner out of Cee Dun It Do It on Saturday, February 4.
January was the kick-off of breeding season, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome our first foals of 2012! Stay posted to the website and facebook for updates on everything breeding from McQuay Stables!
We would also like to welcome our new Breeding Intern, Lindsey Hankins, from the University of Wyoming! Lindsey will be interning with us through May. Welcome, Lindsey!
